repeal of the ACA? Why do they have to try to take the jobs of American workers hostage in an attempt to get the ACA de-funded?

I keep hearing that Ted Cruz is supposed to be a great orator who can craft and present a well reasoned argument. Yet when he had a perfect opportunity to do just that during his 21 hour fili-whatever, he didn't bother to make his case. Instead we had 21 hours of him complaining about the ACA (with no substance), bad Darth Vader impressions and reading from a children's book that he actually misinterpreted (I should get my 7 year old nephew to explain the moral of Green Eggs and Ham to Ted). And it wasn't just those 21 hours. Republicans have had 3 and a half years to make their case and win converts in congress, people who would support their efforts at repeal. That's the way the legislative process is supposed to work. What they are doing now is nothing but a circle jerk.

UPDATE: I'm not seeing any answers that even remotely constitute a cogent, coherent, intelligent case for the repeal of the law. It is all talking points we have seen a thousand time, with no substance. The people who support the ACA on the other hand are presenting verifiable facts to support their arguments.

A) Looking at how badly Medicare and Medicaid are run doesn't inspire my confidence that the government should be allowed anywhere near health care.

B) It is already hurting jobs. There are lots of people being shifted to part-time from full-time just to avoid having to insure them.

C) If you are in the lower middle class, like I am, you probably don't have insurance because you can't afford it. That hasn't changed, and this is the ONLY group this will hit. The poor are covered by other programs, and the upper middle class to the rich already have their own private insurance. Added also that the ACA imposes a 40% excise tax on your policy if it is too good(the "Cadillac Plans"), and this ONLY hurts people.

D) We Republicans are passing smaller bills to fund specific programs and get those workers back on the job, and the Democrats are refusing to even do that. Shows how much the actually care about the suffering from the shut down.

While I do not like that a government shutdown was the tactic they used.

It has become apparent that it is also the only way the Democrats will ever allow them to get a vote on the Senate floor.

Sen Harry Reid has been blocking the bills the House has sent to the Senate.

They do not even get to a committee for discussion and a vote to see if it will get a vote on the Senate floor.

They feel this is needed as it appears to be the only way to get a vote in the Senate.

If both houses of congress were to abide by the rules set out in the Constitution then tactics like this would no longer be deemed necessary.

They have not cogent, coherent or intelligent case, after all how does one justify keeping Americans in third world status in terms of health care availability?

With sixty two percent of bankruptcies caused by medical bills, and the US spending twice as much and getting half as much coverage, you can't even make a reasonable argument that they want to cut costs.

Gungy, Hoffa has been in the Republican pockets for years now, even the rank and file don't support his party anymore. After all how many times can you be called a thug and still lick their hands?

Ask Hoffa, they must be paying him big time over at the Republican party.

Because when we stated the intelligent, coherent case, the Democrats lied and said it was affordable. They even put this lie in the name of the act. Now liberals would have us ruin the entire economy and employment rather than admit that this act is a bad idea. The rebuttals are always anecdotal stories about individuals who can now receive health care.

This is proof that they know it can't work. A "feel-good" story is not proof that the numbers will ever work. If they had it, they'd show it. If it worked, there wouldn't be such pressure to defund it.

Because the ACA is identical to the Republicans own 1994 healthcare plan. Obamacare is a Republican idea.

Of course that was before the Republican Party turned into tea party monkeys.

I bet MSNBC never mentioned this...

"On behalf of the millions of working men and women we represent and the families they support, we can no longer stand silent in the face of elements of the Affordable Care Act that will destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans."

They have the Left just doesn't want to face facts!

The three biggest labor unions who spent large sums of money getting O'Bama elected and BFD O'Bamacare passed are now against it! They are saying it will destroy the middle class, the 40 hour work week and the health of all Americans!

The IRS employee union doesn't want BFD O'Bamacare! The very people who will be enforcing it don't want it!

They don't want it to work as it is Obama's signature legislation.

Now that we're on the thresh hold of full implementation, this is a last ditch effort as the law is working as intended thus far ...

"Just yesterday CMS [Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services] estimated that health care spending grew at it second-slowest rate ever in 2012, will grow at its third-slowest rate ever in 2013, grew at its slowest rate in 2011,” he said. “So the three years since ‘Obamacare’ passed, we’ve seen the slowest growth in health care costs on record.”

Because they are an anarchic mob, with O'reilly and Limbaugh yelling into megaphone, giving them misinformation, and propaganda, then egging them on.

It's all these vague insinuations and innuendo, accompanied by eye rolling, LOTS of eye rolling.

Backed by no facts or statistics whatsoever.

As is standard on Fox Fake Nationalist Party News.

Case? It is simply...

1. I don't like the IRS running it. 16,000 new employees.

2. It cost more than what you already have.[considering the deductible]

3. It allows Obama to exempt people and organizations from restrictions.

4. If it is such a great idea why hasn't Europe with 27 different countries tried to have one system for all? Why? because of diverse countries..like our 50 states.
