What is so great about veterans?

One time, a veteran cut the lock off of my locker and stole my gas mask because he lost his and would have had to pay for one when he outprocessed and I was forced to buy a $130 gas mask. Another time, two veterans got in a drunken fight outside my dorm room and got blood all over the floor.

What's so great about them? I'm a veteran myself, but in my experience, a lot of veterans are not honorable people. I have noticed that the average civilian is a much better human being overall than my fellow veterans were.

I, unlike most people in this thread, I don't see this as bashing on veterans (although I think you can reword your question without the term "veterans" so as not to generalize all American veterans as a whole). What's so great about them? They put their lives on the line so you and all civilians can enjoy the rights you enjoy today. Regardless of what people may say, people are not born with rights. The government grants rights to people and the military defends Those rights. If there were no military and thus veterans, the USA would not be able to defend itself. Other more oppressive nations that don't offer the rights that the USA offers would then conquer the USA.



Those who put down veterans or don't see their importance to society are people who take their rights and freedom for granted. It's as simple as that. Putting one's life on the line so people--strangers--can enjoy their rights is a very noble and selfless act that most are too selfish to do themselves. There are bad apples in every social group of people. The ATF is predominantly good; but a few freaks following orders waste civilians at will on United States soil. Police are predominantly good; but you get occasionally ones that plant evidence and get involved with crime themselves. I joined the Army because I wanted to learn to fly helicopters. I knew upon discharge I could probably get a job with a police dept. air unit, or fly a medevac for hospitals or even fly for TV stations that flew in larger cities. My dad, bless his heart, begged me not to join. He was in the Korean War and was in the middle of everything bad it seems. He still can't talk about the deaths he saw even now. But just like any job there are going to be those that honor the job and those that count the days till they can get out. People must remember, before I joined men used to be drafted, so some didn't want to be in the service to start with. Even when I joined men could join the Army in exchange for a prison sentence they may have received for NON violent felony crimes that they may have committed. Airplanes that go down are hit by demons because they need the airspace to fight Jesus. Antichrist is pale with red eyes. He's possessed by Satan since he's 12 years old. He flies very fast; deceived people will say that "Christ is here; Christ is there". Sometimes, he wears blue robe over left shoulder while red robe is underneath. He wears gloves to hide long nails. He's surrounded by demons who appear as angels of light. Antichrist will trick people to believe that he can do mountain moving and resurrection (using holograms); fire from the sky is easy (considering the gases from pollution in the atmosphere).

Don't go into a UFO to be healed by demons. Green 666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card with no name on it (World Passport). Police will microchip and isotope ray people on the highways. Microchipped people will be influenced by computers to take grey plastic card; but when they do, 666 is given. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost because it leads to permanent hell.

If you're about to be marked, pray the Jesus prayer. Hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666; leave all electronics behind so that antichrist's minions can't track you. Give to charity in the name of Archangel Michael; he rescues people from temporary hell twice a year (or brings them up a level, that is, to a level with less punishment; eventually, people are freed).
