Question:
What does Israel do for the United States? And who else besides the U.S. "contributes" to these people?

===============================
Billions in their coffers thanks to the United States. Not to mention a plethora of weapons and other militry equipment, etc.
And yes they are in the Middle East, and appear to be surviving quite well amongst their proven enemies, as well as those that are perceived to be their enemies.
But -- what do they do for the United States? What do they do for any other country for that matter? What other country gives them the gift of billions?

Our aim is to seize power in Iraq, and use it as a safe haven to launch attacks against Syria and Iran. Lacking the military strength to challenge them directly, we will rely upon air strikes, tactical nuclear weapons, and Israel, the architect of our foreign policy. While the Terrorists have killed a few thousand, including 9/11, Spain, and London, we have killed over a hundred thousand in Iraq. Despite the fact that they were civilians, each of them could easily have become the next bin Laden. The world is safer without them.

In a time of testing, we cannot find security by abandoning our oil and war for profit. If we were to leave the vicious attackers from the Middle East alone, they would not leave us alone. They have proven that time and again. Like on 9/11, and...Well....like on 9/11. By leaving radical Islam to work its will, we would signal that we no longer believe that our radical Christianity is morally superior, and that the Empire is too weak to continue its expansion. Our enemies (and two remaining friends) can be certain that the United States will never surrender in its bid to impose its own form of evil upon the world.

Wow- this is actually a very good question. It is a major problem that many people aren't faced directly with the war. It is like a work of fiction to them and that is why many feel that the right course is the ideological move of pulling out now that would actually cause us more military problems that would bring the war to their backyard. The best things we can do to contribute are to make sacrifices as often as we can afford. Send cards, games, and other comfort items to the troops whenever possible. Keep them in your prayers, and be sure to vote for people who will not undermine our troops funding.

Just to let you know.....Truman and Johnson (both Democratic presidents) began the allegiance to Israel.

Israel is one of the United States strongest allies...probably only preceded by England. I hope you actually read the source that I am posting below....but if not here is at least ONE thing they do for us.

1. The people of Israel help our military when they are "downed" in Iraq and are unable to be reached by US personnel. Israel steps in and RESCUES our men and women. If that was ALL they did they would be worth keeping as allies!

Yes the US has LOANED lots of money to Israel which has been PAID back in addition to monies given to Israel. The US also GIVES billions to many arab nations. As for your phrase referring to Israel's "perceived enemies" which other nation is threatened daily to be eradicated by their neighbors? Please name just one. What Israel has given to the world are many technological advances, computer programs, desalinization of water are just two that come to mind. What innovations or technological advances have our arab allies given to the US and the world? The invention of the perfect non prosecutable murder the homicide bomber? While Israel helped to settle the Jewish refugees from arab nations in 1948, the arab nations placed their brethren in UN and US funded refugee camps and have kept them as pawns in their aggression against Israel for over 60 years!

What Israel does for America has to broken down into several groups and sub groups. A lot of those groups start off with medicines and technology. they have advanced America way farther than America along could have done in a long time. Chances are that if it weren't for Israel, you might be dead right now.

Israel does nothing for the United States except provide staging grounds for our military actions.

It does not provide *us* with balance of power in the middle east, so the previous responder is wrong.

I cannot tell you with authority that anyone but us gives Israel anything. It would surprise me if anybody gave a hoot about Israel, including most of us here in America.

That Israel is an ally does not in and of itself justify - or excuse - the outrageous amount of money and attention we heap on [them].

It keeps balance of power in Middle East. Sort of like planting a mole among the Arab countries.

I am not Jewish but I have to know, why do you hate Israel so much? That is the real question.

And we in America give billions in foreign aid to many countries, do you hate them too?

The one thing they do for us is keep Iran from trying to bomb us, because they will through ever thing and the a bomb if they try to attack the usa.so they do alot for very little from us.

Try applying your logic to everyone else the US "contributes" to.

And realize how racist this question is.
