Private schools or Parochial? , Private Schools with the rich brats pay teachers well, Parochial schools generally won't and also won't follow State curriculum. Generally class sizes are smaller and so so their work load.

Fewer students to teach. The teachers are better. The school has less money in their budget however.
Just because someone is paid more money, it doesn't always mean they are better. One lawyer charges more money than the other, but doesn't do as well as the other.

Actually, the students don't perform "fine". Studies have shown that students who attend private schools with demographics similar to the public schools in their area perform slightly worse than public schools do. Glad to have presented the facts to you. Google is your friend! Please learn to use it.

Private school teachers are in it for the students and for students to achieve goals.
Public school teachers are always complaining about not being paid enough......to me - they are being paid way too much. When I was in school; we NEVER had days off so a teacher could grade papers...........the teachers took the papers home, at night, and graded them. Most were lucky to even get the opportunity to teach. They taught the basics and encouraged students to do their best or go above and beyond.

Judging by our private-schooled pols, like Bush and Romney, they don't teach sh*t. They are just opportunities network and acquire guanxi. The more anglo-phile joints probably teach the boys to enjoy being floggoed and buggered.

Public school teachers and administrators are not as limited by ridiculous government regulations as private schools are so they can produce better education, even though they can’t spend as much on resources. They are more efficient.

Private school teachers salaries are drawn from the tuition paid by students.
Since far fewer students are in private schools the teachers salaries are less.

It cannot be generalized that pupils' performances in private schools are better. That depends on the individual private school.

Because public school teachers are government employees and like all government employees they are paid well in excess of their worth.

As a private school teacher myself I am paid waaaay more than my public counterparts. That’s generally true in my area. Public school teachers are paid garbage here.

Because private schools don't have an unlimited supply of extorted money and when they need more money they can't just extort more from the people, they actually need to provide value and offer it at a price people are willing to pay since they can't just take as much as they want/ need through extortion.
2021-03-01 12:49:36 UTC
It cannot be generalized that pupils' performances in private schools are better. That depends on the individual private school.
Besides, the organizations that run private schools usually want to make profit and hence exploit their teachers by paying them too little. Therefore, the question is indeed why private teachers are getting paid too little money. The answer should be asked the profit-oriented organizations.
And other private schools get contributions from rich investors, e.g. former students.
Furthermore, private teachers can strike and public teachers are usually not allowed to strike.

Id give up 10% to teach kids whose families and students want to learn.
I'd give up 10% to avoid baby sitting the filth and teaching the propaganda that fills the public school.
I want to teach kids that will go onto be winners not uneducated losers in a public school system that is failing students, America, and contributing to rapidly failing STEM scores

private schools don't have to keep the troublemakers in school.
they can kick them out.
but the democrat-controlled public school monopoly keeps all the thugs in school, no matter how much trouble they cause.
thugs are not serious students.
they are not there to learn.
they are only there to bring in welfare money for their baby-mommas.
they cannot be educated, because they don't have parents.
no one is raising them at home.

Private schools hand pick their students so they avoid many of the problems of public schools. Schools in inner cities have to pay teachers more as they serve needier students. The biggest factor of success in schools is poverty. Students on average who have better support do better in school. Some students in private schools fail and some students in public all schools do excellent. But generally poverty is the biggest success factor.

Private school classes are smaller in number and the teacher can give more attention to students individually. Besides the children are more well behaved in class.

As a percentage of educational institutions, Private schools out perform public schools. Charter schools (public) out perform public schools.
Teachers Unions care very little about teaching the children under their tutelage and care more about the power they wield over them and their parents.
Private and Charter schools do more with less.
Teachers Unions call opening schools "White Priviledge" and what billions given to them in order to get back in the class rooms after COVID.
Poor disadvantaged children are falling farther behind daily as Teachers Unions hold them hostage
Private/Religious schools never closed and had minimal transmission of COVID.
Public School children are now far dumber than their counterparts in Private Schools

Charter school teachers generally get paid less, private school teachers generally get paid more. Not that any of that matters, in more then 40 states the average teachers wages are more then the community in which they teach. In my town that average is more then 80 thou. So while many on the lower end, the newer teaches don't make an aweful lot. That is the same with any career path, start low, work up.

I took a 15K cut to move to a public school. I did so because public schools are becoming bureaucratic and dysfunctional. There are things other than pay that attract good teachers. In fact many poor quality teachers could never work in private education, but are protected in the public school system.

My sister in-law teaches at a Christian school. She doesn't have the credentials for a public school. She has never failed a student. That's what the parents are paying for. Also they can expel problem kids and poor achievers so it looks like the school has a better performance record.

private school teachers do not require the requirements that public schools require.
2021-03-02 04:04:56 UTC
Because for being a teacher in a private school, you have to be a skilled teacher and have knowledge in the subject you teach, while being a public school teacher, anyone with political influence could enter it, without any skill or talent in teaching, thus their focus is not teaching but politics, just like how government run institution generally are, most inefficient!

Better work environment is well worth the lower income. Do you know most private school teachers actually teach. They have minimum discipline duties, remedial work and far more parents at the Parent-Teacher activities.

Change "fine" to "much better". Also, there are private school teachers paid much better than public teachers. But your point is correct. Those who think otherwise should call any Catholic School and ask about their waiting list.

SOME private school teachers make less, and some make more. Private schools have the advantage of kicking out students who are disruptive and don't reform over time. Public schools have many students from broken homes, and those students bring those problems into the classroom. Private schools can also teach the moral values that come from God. Teaching moral values without God is rather pointless- it would be logical for a public school student to ask "Why should I?" when being told to behave respectfully. If there is no real underlying reason for a rebellious minded student to behave, why should they behave?

Students from similar income levels and similar parental educational levels perform the same whether the school is private or public.
Public schools are under additional pressures of the legal requirements to educate all children and to provide the necessary programs to support special needs children.

It's certainly possible that in some public schools teachers and administrators just don't care because there isn't a meaningful punishment for doing a poor job. But I wouldn't count out the possibility of selection bias. Public schools have to take everyone, even students who don't want to be there and who's parents couldn't care less about education. If a student is going to a private school, their parents are probably wealthy, care a great deal about their children's education, or both. The student bodies just aren't the same, and it stands to reason that schools could produce different results for that reason alone.

Once you take all the hateful race and gender training out of a public school day there is only 1 hour left to teach actual knowledge.

This may be partly because many private schools do not require state certification from their educators, although it is recommended and would likely bring a higher salary.
Many teachers prefer to work at private schools despite the often lower salary, though, due to smaller classroom size, religious affiliation or other reasons. So they make less and the money that should go to them goes to foolish religious purposes.

The federal government makes rules for public schools systems that cause them to fail in urban areas often based on racial equity that make it impossible to discipline the students or even make them do homework. What a waste of money. That is why Republicans believe school choice would cause competition in education to make it actually result in literacy.
