What would a "no fly zone" over Darfur accomplish?

This has been touted by the Democratic presidential candidates as a possible solution to the genocide in Darfur. But I'm not sure I've heard that planes have played much of a role in the problem. What would such a "no fly zone" actually accomplish?

Wouldn't even affect the flies, that's for sure.
What else are the Dems suggesting? t-shirts? or, concerts to sell more dopey music to 20-somethings? Hillary says 2,500 USA troops could do the trick (-- but, freeing Iraq from the murderous Saddam was NOT a good idea, of course.) Either Dem or GOPer, the solution is to do nothing.. wait a week, and do more nothing... and the UN? they'll go book a 5-star hotel in Egypt and talk about doing nothing over a $700 dinner. NOTE -- always remember, for the Democrats for the last 40+ years it's been about "saying" or "intending" on doing something, and not actually doing a blessed THING (to a man, and that includes Hillary). They'll point fingers at what the dopey Republicans are doing (or laugh at them) -- but never-ever do a thing, themselves. LBJ did something, and the Dems don't even acknowledge his efforts - which were sincere, and lasting and affective! (but, ever since the DNC backed another Kennedy in RFK, and LBJ was insulted as an Old School guy and a STANDING PRESIDENT by the way, can you imagine?) the Dems have been chasing their tails since 1968 -- and that should be their ad slogan.

It would put pressure on the reason, kinda just saying we are watching you and if you keep this up, we may intervene fully. I dont think a no fly zone solves it but neither do they. They want peace keeping troops in there and i think that is the right move, we cant go in, we have to many troops elsewhere and the last thing we need is to involve ourselves fully in another area. UN is the way to go for this one.

Absolutely nothing - the region is too vast and unless the planes were willing to attack any militias then they won't have any effect. We might get some nice aerial shots that could complement Google Earth.

No planes over Darfur.

It would get a whole lot more Muslims very angry at the US.
