The Klan was started 45 mins west of me in Pulaski.

It was NOT started by Confederates and it was NOT meant to be a racist organization.....It just developed into one over time.

It was started as a club and turned into a group of racist individuals with a ridiculous agenda.

Basically it was started to run Northern Carpet Baggers out of the South, you do know that Bedord Forrest left the KKK when it changed its direction of running the Scum carpet baggers trying to take advantage of the war ravaged south out and became a racist organization.

You probably should go ask the longest term democrat senator Robert Byrd . A senator and KKK member since at least the 1960's

well, when it was started, it was more a fraternity-style group rather than a hate group. Eventually it died out, but then was restarted as a racist group at the end of the 19th Century.

I'm not sure. But due to a law suit, the NAACP now owns the legal rights to the name "Klu Klux Klan" in one sourthern state. Go figure.

we should ask the only sitting member of the Senate who was once a Grand Wizard of the KKK,...Robert Byrd, DEMOCRAT W.Virgina...

and btw it was the Democrat Party that started the civil war to preserve slavery, enacted "Jim Crow Laws" after the war,and stood in the doorways of schools in the 60's to stop integration....it is they who are racist...

You should know the answer to that. IT was because the south wanted to re-instate white supremacy during the reconstruction period.
