What if you accidentally call a fellow conservative that phrase? Are they offended? Does that mean they automatically have to convert? How do you know when you're really calling a liberal out versus just having a difference of opinion about say, how much you support the Iraq reconstruction?

When did "liberal" become a bad word? After all liberals had to convince the Conservatives that fighting Nazis was a good thing. Liberals had to convince Conservatives that clean air and clean water are essential and that folks in the country might like some electricity. Liberals had to convince Conservatives that the government should look into workplace and consumer safety issues and regulate banks. Liberals had to convince Conservatives that Social Security would help prevent poverty among our elderly.

I shudder to think what the US might be like today had Liberals not had the courage to fight for their convictions in the last 100 years.

There are liberal democrats, liberal leaning conservatives, moderate democrats, conservative democrats, and yes neo conservative conservatives.

I know that I never call a conservative a lib because I don't even call democrats a lib.

Unless a person has made his views known, there is no way to know if that person is a liberal, moderate or conservative.

If it looks like a socialist lib, walks like a socialist lib, and talks like a socialist lib, it's a social;ist lib. If they don't want to be called lib, they should think, act and speak conservatism.

IOW, when you see a lib, call him a lib.

Republicans love to label people. We used to do that in elementary school. We would call each other names all day long like you folks continue to do. Wise up! The world is not so simple for you now.
