they implemented exotic death sentences, such as being killed by a horse while engaging in receptive anal sex, or something along those lines.I know it's forbidden in the Constitution, but can you imagine if we did have something like that, in which if you commit rape or murder, you wind up meeting Mr. Ed?

Possibly. If you're familiar with the ruler Vlad Tepes in the 1400s (or 1300s) you'll understand why crime rate was very low there

lawlessness in a state isn't similar.we in india have a tendency to call a state lawless because the media owned by some skill-inherited benias favor us to believe of their information made public with vested interest. contained in the present gadget a foul and poverty striken human being if discovered close to the 5 superstar motel wandering contained in the desire of having a bite on the left over nutrition from the dirt bin is quickly harrassed or maybe arrested. the white collar criminals swindling 35000 crores and having a ball is seen lawful. for my section all the white collar criminals who've didressed the geo-graphical bounderies of the indian states are the most lawlees aspects.they run parallel authorities incl the judiciary with the black money saved contained in the lockers of the nationalised banks chance-free by the state on the fee of the exchequers. for this reason the india as a rustic, until eventually eventually it takes over the administration from the white collar criminal , may nicely be topped because the most lawless sovereign u . s . a ..

Of course. But almost ANYTHING would decline if that was the retribution for it, so it's not really saying anything about violent crime exclusively.

I don't, however, think it'd significantly decrease the extreme violent crimes such as multiple homocides for the sole reason that statistics have shown that nothing really deters such crimes commited in that sort of mindset...

I wouldn't recommend exotic death sentences; rather, I would recommend *public* death sentences. Public hangings would definitely deter *some* crime. It is a fact, though, that no system of punishment ever devised, in the entire history of the world, has ever deterred *all* crime.

Do I support your suggestion of the type of punishment, or punishment for adult sodomy? No.

But there really isn't much consequence for doing crime today.

in old britain they punished every felony with death, with no appreciable drop in crime. i don't know if having absurdly gruesome executions would make a difference, though. most criminals don't expect to be caught and punished, so i'm not sure if there would be much of a deterrent effect.

Crime is much lower now than ever in history, your childish fantasies will stay in movies where they belong

art v: If you took a survey of people in jail how many of them do you think would admit they were hit by their parents when they acted up? Or ever got beaten severely? Probably every one of them. Violence doesn't do anything but inspire more violence

your answer is yes. The problem is the people (sheep) are not willing to dish out enough punishment to the crooks (wolves) because by their nature they are not vicious people.
