What? Simply because I don't agree with the policies on the table, that means I support lobbyists? I don't even know any lobbyists. My elected Representatives should be listening to me, not lobbyists, anyway.

Your assertion, disguised as a question is illogical. Government intrusion and Lobbyist interference ... I don't get the connection you're trying to make.

If you are that concerned with Lobbyist interference, then look no further then the current Administration which is infested with Lobbyists. Start there.

NO

all lobbyists and tax profiteers should be eliminated. We can give them no more reason to interfere with the FairTax act.

Well considering that 58% of the insurance industry money goes to members of the Democratic Party.

Your a little confused.

And why even worry about the little money the insurance inductry gives.

Go look at the real money.

The Trial Lawyers donate more than 10 times what the insurance industry does, and 80% of thier money goes to Democrats.

Trial lawyers are the largest special interest group in the world.

They donate more than the next 20 industries COMBINED !!!!

Thats more than Big Oil, insurance, drug companies, banks, etc all put together.

I don't. I think the power from the government should be removed as to prevent them from enacting legislation that favors anyone or anything.

I'm right of center and I think ALL lobbyists should be cut off and forced to actually work for a living.

I'm center right and I don't like it. Our elected representatives are being bought off by an army of lobbyists from every conceivable business and special interest group.

Where is the disconnect? If you're going to point out health care costs don't forget to include labor unions, high corporate tax rates, the cost of litigation and the costs of complying with US regulations.

Some of these are necessary, some are overdone.

As unsubstantiated charges go, I suppose it's better to anonymously be labeled as supporting lobbyists than being called a racist.

I guess I should thank you.

Exactly! We'd bring back billions of jobs, maybe even trillions, if we just increased the taxes on those corporations to pay for Obamacare.

Because, as we all know.. paying an insurance company is a drain on corporate finances. But, paying even more to the IRS for the same thing isn't!

Seriously, how stupid are you liberals?

Hey subvertor; I can see that you are in a mood today. But I do have to agree. People ARE stupid. I cannot understand why people are so gullible. Earlier this year polls indicated that 72% of Americans supported some form of a public option (myself I prefer single payer but public option may be a step in the right direction). A majority that would force all but the most stubborn of conservative elected officials into supporting their constituents wishes. Of course this situation was unacceptable to the health care industry, and so the propaganda and misinformation began to fly. A great deal of American citizens were either completely duped by these lies or became too confused to even have an opinion. Now the insurance lobbyists have our politicians, both Democrat and Republican back in their pockets instead of fearing and serving their constituents they again serve the special interests. The THINKING among us have brains enough to understand where the funding for all of these lies came from. The rest of middle America has once again been had by an ideology that does NOT have their best interests in mind.

This is not about national or public good. It is about market share, and Republicans are very serious about that.

As for whether the right believes the government should not interfere, ask any woman who wants to terminate a pregnancy who is trying to stop her. Ask Terry Schiavo's husband.

How the people who declared war on marijuana users can claim that government should not be intrusive beats me. I think they are just a pack of hypocrites who are afraid to admit they would be as intrusive as the Nazis if we let them.

You answered your own question with your added comments. Bill Clinton's remark "It's the economy, stupid!" still applies. Money is our nation's god...and man, are we ever devout worshipers! You gotta pay to play 'round these parts.

Because it makes them look bad, of course.
