we "classic conservatives" try to conserve a limited government and thus freedom. we also oppose the current foreign policy. this aggressive foreign policy is only possible through a federal reserve system that has to inflate the money supply and cause inflation to pay for wars that only benefit a very few people in the U.S. classic conservatives conserve the constitution. Freedom works, what you see today is not a result of free markets, it is a result corporate America using the authority of government to benefit and gain monopoly of markets. It is ironic and frustrating to hear that the current financial problems are a result of free market capitalism, it is quite the opposite.

Neo-conservatives are also conserving the constitution but they have accepted the idea that some how big government is okay if used for military purposes which they believe is in the best interest of the American people. did I answer your question????/

So you can understand it! WOW, your not asking for much are you?

You'll have to forgive me, I haven't lowered myself like this in a long time! I'm a bit rusty!

Even if, as you say, I'm just protecting my rights to consume and be violent, that's your insane reasoning and flawed sense of justice and fair play!! i.e. untrue, false, lie!

Not all innovations are good ones! We Conservatives want to always move forward, but there is a sane and fair way to go!!

You liberals/democrats just say OH, that looks good and blindly run as fast as you can after it!! You don't look out for traffic or the man in the car with candy!! Remember, if it looks to good to be true, it is!!!

In summary, get your heads out of your @sses, take a deep breath and take a chill pill!! Do you understand that or shall I be a bit less intelligent for you!!?

Conservative- adj. 1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc. and to limit change. 2. cautiously moderate. 3. traditional in style or manner. -n 4. a conservative person.

Source- Webster's Dictionary.

For further explanation, conservatives want to preserve our government as it was founded and according to the United States Constitution. We believe the Constitution is a literal document outlining the law of the land and it is not a "living, breathing document" as some on the left would have you believe.

Having provided you with the above information however, does not change my suspicion that your political bigotry will not be altered one whit.

They do not conserve money or BS, that's for sure. I have always said, "Republicans are liberals in drag". There is no such thing as conservatism anymore. Because of the last conservative that ran this country there can't be conservatism anymore. Our debt is so huge we have to spend over 600 billion/year just to service our debt. So-called conservatives are crying that the Obama budget is 1.3 trillion. Well it really is only about 700 billion after you take away the 650 billion in debt service. So, our fine conservatives really put us in a fiscal bind for the foreseeable future.

Modern conservatism in America is not actual or original conservatism. It has some elements of original conservatism. But, it is mostly about returning to traditional values and small government.

Originally, American conservatism was designed to be a method of governance where the nation would lead within it's limitations. It was designed to limit spending. It was designed to respect the will of the people.

However, with an ever changing society, American conservatism has been extended to mean gun rights, pro life, anti gay marriage, pro Christianity and pro faith, anti progressive change and progressiveness, anti communism, and more recently anti socialism.

The route of conservatism is to conserve. To conserve our way of life. To conserve our nation's wealth. To conserve the amount of governance placed amongst the people. True American conservatism is filled with virtues worthy of consideration. But, it has been bastardized by social and economical changes which has added merits less virtuous and more self important.

It's just a political tag designed to neatly compartmentalize life. As you probably know, individuals cannot be assigned to neat & tidy boxes. The great thing about this country is that whether or not I agree with you, you are free to express your opinion. My hunch is that you'd be tagged a liberal or something, but I'm sure that you are more significant than a simplistic tag. Yeesh, I need to go get a beer. Cheers!

Finds it amazing that you actually believe yourself - but it is a free country (for now) oh and you're wrong about the policy thing....not sure where you got that one from.

in their case the word "conserve" actually means "regress" They would take the country back to the days of slavery and segregation if they could.

they call it the "good 'ol days"

By the way, this is NOT the "nation of Christ." Not everyone believes in a giant in the sky or the bible or all that other non-sense.

The political class 'reserves' everything for themselves.

Real people are frenzied into thinking we 'like' or 'agree with' those shakin' up dolts in DC and so we "take sides"... sides that don't exist outside the realm of emotion.

Love, peace and happiness as they show none of that on here, that is for sure. I wonder if they have any to conserve. I wish they would follow their Saviour more. Right, right wing.
