How do people change parties so easily, you'd have to change your entire frame of mind wouldn't you?

Today you love this about your country, tomorrow you hate it. Today this is acceptable, tomorrow it's not........Love government, hate government. Pro-choice, pro-life. Today your gay, tomorrow your not - I don't think that would work.
Seems like changing parties would be extremely hard because they're complete opposites.

Changing parties for politicians is not difficult at all. Considering that their first priority is "self", they will do anything, everything to get reelected. Ideology has nothing to do with priority one. Second priority is party with third priority being country, or it could be special interest, or cousin, or brother, or uncle, etc., etc. Who knows where their loyalties lie, certainly not with the public good.

No -- the parties are NOT complete opposites -- and it's the Parties that change.

It's not the parties that I change...I keep the same ideology. It's the parties that change, not my values.
