Why did Democrats bail out a corrupt company like GM, even while bashing capitalism?

All ask why GM took so long to address a problem it has said first came to its attention in 2001.'

Those of us who had the misfortune of driving a defective GM vehicle know this story all too well.

Democrats bash big businesses constantly.

But they bailed out GM, the worst business failure in history. If any company deserved to go out of business, it was GM.

Now watch the liberals defend greedy corrupt capitalism, when their Messiah gives $50 billion of our money to them....

GM is like any other car company, they have safety recalls from time to time. For you to make a blanket statement off that is rather ludicrous..

To make sure over a million Americans didn't lose their jobs. If capitalism worked, GM wouldn't have needed bailing out. However, Democrats care too much about the livelihoods of working Americans to just let GM go under. That's also why they bailed out the big banks, too. They hated how the big banks behaved, but they knew that if they go down, so would most of the US financial system, as well as a lot more businesses, too.



Basically, the Democrats used socialism to prevent free market capitalism from creating another Great Depression.

I honestly do not think the government officials knew how corrupt GM was acting at the time. I do not think they should have bailed them out unless they were willing to create a government owned auto industry and end free trade.

IF we had done - all cars sold in the USA would have been made here and created more jobs! Plus a better reason to make them safer!



It seems pretty obvious the reason they did NOT disclose at the time is the fragile state of the economy and their business at the time- it would have sunk them for sure and OUR tax dollars would have been gone - never reimbursed!



A few more peoples lives will be sacrificed with convictions for the murders of innocent drivers , a fine will be paid to the government and all will be forgotten.
