Does your definition of "success" mean how quickly Barry Obama can squander another $1 billion of the taxpayers' money? Which is seems to be for some people.

The government had no business giving me a $4,600 credit on the brand new 2009 Toyota Venza AWD sitting in my driveway, that I took delivery of yesterday. All it did was delay a purchase I was going to make soon anyway: after I learned that this bill was being considered in Congress I waited until the program was in effect. I can easily afford the car and paid cash for the vehicle by getting a treasurer's check drawn on my checking account. But most people will be going further into debt by taking out a car loan.

The government just credited me 4,600 bucks to buy an all wheel drive vehicle that is rated 23 MPG. LMAO.

A complete waste of the taxpayers' money. Boondoggle. One Billion Dollars. And I understand the House voted another $2 Billion on top of that, let's see if that passes the Senate.

But I will take Barry's money just the same.

Gee, thanks Barry.

Who's Barry?
LMAO

The dealership tv ads have been successful in helping me educate my child about the true cost of things, in addition to the necessary scrutiny with which one must watch tv ads.

All in all, I'd say it's helping save us money here in my home. But we're not in a really high tax-bracket around here, since last November.

I'm also hoping for cheaper used parts for my 8 year old Subaru, but I won't hold my breath that people will be trading those for $4,600.

It's just an unconstitutional wealth transfer to yet another preferred group of recipients as determined by politicians.

Will the smug leftists calling this a success be around when demand falls off a cliff after this artificial demand "stimulation" ends?

A success in wasting tax payer money Yes. Who wouldn't want free money? We had a government program to get people into houses they cant afford we all know how that worked out. Now we have a program to get them into cars they cant afford so the stupidity continues. I predict in a year repos will be skyrocketing because people that drive clunkers rarely can afford a car payment especially with this job market.

Works for you. I bought a vehicle that gets me 40 mpg before the plan went into effect. now I have to help pay for others to buy cars that get less. I'll make up for it by buying one of them when the default on their loan.

Why should I continue to bother living disciplined smart and frugal when I can get others to buy my way out of my poor decisions?

I think you are lying. What vehicle did you trade in that was getting 13 mpg? I KNOW you are lying. You should have checked the DETAILS of the program first. I bought a FORD.

Where will it stop? Will the government pay people to buy all products next? Just how do people justify the government doing this? I want them to stay out of businesses!

If you can so easily afford a new $30,000 car...why were you driving a clunker that you only got $4600 dollars for in the first place.

I think you are making this up.

Boondoggle? It's one of the most successful stimulus packages around.

So the government had no business giving you the credit? So why don't you return it?
