george bush just appointed a swift boat fundraiser as Ambassador to Belgium (more details)?

Here's the tricky part. He was gonna try to get the guy appointed throught he regular route- approval by the senate, etc. When he realized that they were gonna reject the candidate, he waited until Congress was out for spring recess, and appointed the guy without Congressional approval. This means he basically just gave the finger to the Congress and did what he wanted anyway. Am I the only one whothinks that GW is getting waaaay to sneaky and underhanded?

Some times I have to look again at what country this is. Bush now thinks he is King of the U.S. and not president. I am not sure how he ever got so powerful but I have an idea. Its very sad but many people just don't care. I have asked several people while out during the evening if they have kept up on what is going on politically. Normally people don't have a clue. I am sure there are many people out there in the USA that Vote and don't even know there was even a hostage issue with Iran. People go to work come home and watch there favorite show and go to bed. They live life like they are in a bubble. Something has to change for us to become a free county again. People have to pay attention and care about there county. We all need to get some back bone and do something about it.

Just one person in congress can not block an appointee.

I did read the story but need more facts. The story did leave many questions. Was it just an assumption that he would have been blocked??? Was the president worried that the would block him in order to gain more leverage over the war bill?? If Congress knows how the president" operates" shouldn't they not take any breaks while appointee issues are pending?? If Congress it the law makers and can pass bill shouldn't they have passed a bill to prevent any appointees during spring break???

As for been mooned by congress it was the 109th congress which voted the pay raises!! 109 congress was republican controlled. Yep we got mooned by the republican majority.
