First, you've been watching too much Fox. Only in Fox's narrative is the President a failure.

Second, you would have to define what you mean by "race relations". If you mean minorities not making any kind of fuss and demanding their rights, then race relations were at a high point in the 1940s, when they didn't dare speak up. If you mean white people being able to ignore the minorities living in the country, then they are definitely less able to do that under Obama. If, on the other hand, you mean all people having better access to things like health care that the affluent take for granted, then I'd say things have improved.

Race relations would be better if he wasnt elected. Its a misnomer to think that race relations under his presidency has improved or we would be worse off without him.



I'll give you an example. In new york city, under the white mayor, ed koch, race relations had dropped a bit. So the voters replaced him with the citys very first black mayor, david dinkins. Thinking this would heal some of the racial strife. Instead, race relations bottomed out under dinkins as he allowed the racial arsonists to control the streets. Resulting in the deaths of people. After only one term, the voters replaced dinkins with another white mayor: rudy guilliani. And race relations improved.
