Question:
Republicans were invited to attend or speak at the MLK 50-year anniversary ceremony. Why didn`t they show up?

Boehner, Cantor, Bush II, McCain -- and many other Republicans were invited. But they didn't show up. Why not?

All the speakers were Liberal Democrats.

But I thought Cons kept perpetuating the LIE that MLK was a Conservative Republican?

So why haven't any Republicans come to speak to commemorate a so-called fellow "Conservative Republican"?

Most of them didn't want to change their schedule in order to attend the event.

Also, cons shouldn't be saying MLK is a Republican. Have they seen his quotes on the Republican party in his memoir????

I don't know. What did they say was their reason? I'm sure you investigated why they said they couldn't/wouldn't attend. I assume you aren't just mouthing/keying off without determining why they didn't.

I suspect RT is correct. They probably were set up. That's exactly the kind of sleazy crap Democrats are famous for doing. That's part of the reason, although I ran from the Republicans so soon as I found a party I liked much better, I would never considered being a Democrat today.

PS: l don't know if he was conservative but he was very religious, if you object to that.

I googled this and after skipping fake news sites like huffington and dailykos, I went to ABC News and found some interesting tidbits. Quoted from ABC News:

Republican Party officials reached out to organizers of this week’s March on Washington commemoration with a series of suggestions for possible GOP speakers, but several of the people they recommended were never contacted

Miscommunication and lack of coordination appear to have played a role

Event organizers say they assumed Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., couldn’t attend, based on a failure to RSVP to an earlier, more general invitation. But his office says he was never actually invited to speak, and he may have been able to attend if he was formally invited

several of the invitations went out quite late in the planning

RNC officials offered help in finding one or more appropriate Republican speakers

Wow, the wonders of a real news site. You should try one some time.

Ahem, McCain was interviewed the same day as the celebration. He openly stated he'd never received an invitation. Which even the ONLY black Senator also never received an invite. So, I suspect you simply believe what is a lie. That any of them were invited.

Exactly how does socialism entitlement narcissism comply with MLK's I have a Dream? How does Obama's divisive "blame" speech of entitled to others property and entitled to others paying for others health care comply with I have a Dream?

Exactly as easy as buying an assault rifle, Meaning it doesn't. Just as I WISH voting was actually as easy as buying an assault rifle. Have you tried to buy one lately? Legally? Sh-- for starts you MUST SHOW an ID!!!

MLK was a registered republican. i mean the democrats were all in the KKK, and this is no lie this is simple fact.

EDIT- yes MLK was a republican like his father, and Abraham Lincoln:

"My grandfather, Dr. Martin Luther King, Sr., or "Daddy King", was a Republican

and father of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was a Republican."

- Dr. Alveda C. King

i also see you admit that the democrats were the party of the KKK.........so why would MLK join the party of the KKK.

I wouldn't have shown up either, the man is no longer honored for what he did but has become a political pawn by the democrats. Everything that happens now is something MLK would have wanted they claim so it would have been so lame and fake. Why do the democrats always have to destroy people one way or another.

I would consider that an honour. I would cancel or delay, all my other dates if I had the chance to speak to a gazillion people - all of them trying to wake up the world. It might sound a bit childish - but I'm no child - quite the opposite.

Congress is on vacation and many of them just didn't think the anniversary ceremony was important enough for them to cut short that vacation. Just shows how selfish and disrespectful many of our lawmakers can be.

I wasn't invited. Why should I answer for someone else?

BTW, I love that your "source" is a website that looks like what one gets in spam emails. Couldn't find a credible site for this, huh?

The story I heard was that they were asked a short time before the event and already had full schedules. If the organizers really wanted them, they would have given their guests a fair chance.

Here's what you weren't told. Any invites were sent the day prior the ceremony. Is this what you would do if you wanted select people to show up to a party of yours?

false

they were invited rite before the event started, and none were given a chance to speak. The whole thing was a democrat circle jerk.
