Why is the right so mad at helen thomas?

I thought they supported free speech?

Once Helen Thomas referred to Taliban murderers as "so-called terrorIsts" it was clear to me that she was a complete loon.

This latest buffoonery just proved it further.

She gave an oath to report the news fairly. There should be no slant to the right or the left. She has been in that job way too long and has voiced her opinion in Job where she should have no opinion!



She has freedom of speech, when she is not working until then she must report the news factually!( and Obama wants to take over the internet, I'm sure everyone would have free speech on it! LOL. ( if they were Liberal)



I have seen others (LIberals) say that because she did not have free speech neither should Rush,Hannity, or Beck. They have it a little mixed up , Helen Thomas is a reporter the other three are commentaters. Helen gets paid for impartial factual truth and the others get paid for their thoughts and studies on politics, Two different jobs entirely!

Of course, you won't understand my answer as you do not understand 'free speech' as provided under the Constitution. But that's okay. Confusion and ignorance is rampant on the left.

The same reason that the left is mad at Rand Paul or any other person who exercises their freedom of speech right and gets crucified for it.



She has the right to say what she did.



People can say what they want but it doesn't mean there won't be consequences for their statement. The government did nothing to this woman, it was her piers who got her fired. They exercised their freedom of speech and got rid of her. The Government was not involved in her firing. Private citizens have the right hold people accountable for what they say and do.

the 1st Amendment right to Freedom of Speech guarantees that the Government won't throw you in jail for what you say...it doesn't guarantee that everyone has to agree with you, and certainly doesn't protect you from the court of public opinion. Know the intent behind 1st Amendment before you go spouting off about it and looking foolish.

She could have said, "I think the Palestinians do have the more legitimate claim to the ancestral land." Which would have been 1000 times less explosive than send the Jews back to Poland.
