Approching people like Bishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela for public apporoval (he asked them to advocate this in public). Others like Irish prime minister Mary Robinson refused his approaches.

Even Salmond himself admitted that Al Megrahis victorious arrival at the airport in Tripoli was the all time low of his political career.

Are these monkeys in the SNP fit to run Scotland??

"Are these Faux Nationalists in the SNP nothing but Marxist deviants ready to align Scotland with ALLAH?"

That is ridiculous, pure and simple: who said SNP would be the 1st government of an Independent Scotland.

Monkeys SNP? do you prefare the rule of the Conservatives then? who's done more for Scotland what party?

I agree this is deplorable, but the rest of what you've said is nonsense.

@Sophie, since the SNP can't do oil deals as it isn't devolved are you implying it was actually Westminster who made the decision?

Which Justice Minister makes 'personal visits' to a world renowned criminal in prison as McAskill done at Greenock? The TV pictures of a high speed Police convoy from prison to plane made me nauseas and really questioned what I was seeing...unbelievable!. The SNP must have known that the Libyians would have made huge political propoganda capital out of this and seeing saltires been flown in the desert was a kicking in the goolies. Using words like 'compasionate release' didn't impress the families of the victims , British or American. THIS WAS COMPLETELY WRONG. This is just an example where the SNP just wants to be different just for the sake of it , without 'consulting the people of Scotland' , one of Mr Salmond's favourite phrases. So , does that mean all the public consultations since have been purely nationalist propoganda. Excuse me for being different , this does not impress me and I will be voting totally against the SNP in the forthcoming referendum.

I have to admit like a very good many more that these Scottish Nationalists are really good.

Very good at twisting facts and political fiction to their narrow point of view.

Now I will give way on one point which seems to be overlooked by nationalists and that is the Thatcher Government selling off North Sea oil assets to private ownership which gave the Thatcher Government a treasure chest to finance some large expenditure such as finding redundancy monies for sacked miners, steelworkers and shipyard workers. Some would say very generous terms.

Now arriving at the Lockerbie bombers release was a publicity triumph for Colonel Gadaffi which Salmond and Sturgeon were made to look pathetic figures on the international stage.

In other words. Little tiddlers in a large pool of pike.

Right now his incarcerated Son has been kept in isolation and mostly forgot and that is where the key to the whole scenario lies. What will he reveal?

Is the truth of the issue about to be revealed a few days before the Scottish independence referendum?

When Salmond and Sturgeon will be revealed to the international community as the political amateurs and misfits they really are.

Yes his release was a mistake.

The rest of it makes me wonder if their is a sensible unionist out here, come on align with Allah? a statement like that should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

Then we have another user who claims he isn't voting for the SNP in the referendum, well I don't think one person in Scotland will be, so we will all agree with you on that (before you go there, Greens SSP, Sections of Labour, Margo Mcdoanld are all actively campaigning for Independence as we speak). Now I would like to know why he thinks there's a box on the ballot with SNP beside it? I will be voting Yes as that will be on the ballot.

It really frightens me the unionists level of debate on this, they seem to be hiding behind their hatred for the SNP so they don't have to address the issues or open up to them.

Utter nonsense from start to end. i do no longer in all probability care what a pollof 1006 people unearths out. that may no longer a huge adequate quantity to sort a desirable opinion of what the full u . s . a . thinks, even regardless of the undeniable fact that that's what the BBC are touting as a correct opinion poll. it is likewise surprisingly distasteful that each and all of the political events in Scotland are pouncing on it saying 'we does no longer have made this determination.' You guess they does no longer, they had have grew to become over as quickly because of the fact the yankee government have been given in touch and he'd nonetheless be in detention center. the determination made grew to become into made on Scottish judicial technique, no longer basic opinion. The legal technique utilized for via Megrahi's attorneys is open to any terminally unwell long term prisoner. To have denied him launch could have been against Scottish regulation. the US won't carry that throughout extraordinarily intense regard, yet then that's no longer their jurisdiction and admittedly they are in a position to wander off. no count if or no longer you have self assurance it grew to become into the final determination is irrelevant. It grew to become into arrived at with due judicial priority and technique and grew to become into hence ultimate under regulation. something i think a lot of people on right here commenting freely comprehend certainly no longer something approximately. it is likewise a fact that this determination won't make the slightest impact on Scottish corporation; yet another ridiculous declare i've got heard. corporation judgements are no longer made on an opinion of a single act, they're in step with economics. no person in corporation is going to grant a toss appropriate to the Scottish Justice Secretary liberating somebody if it makes financial experience to make corporation in Scotland. and of direction, you may moan all you like approximately it now even regardless of the undeniable fact that it won't make a blind little bit of distinction. the guy is going to die besides and he won't be going lower back into detention center first. i individually think of people could desire to moan approximately issues that right now influence them and not the way forward for 1 guy. That stated, i think those different polls you communicate of did no longer exist in the 1st place.

Do you really honestly believe that if any President of the USA asked any authority in any country of the UK to keep someone incarcerated that particular authority would refuse, that would be pushing the bounds of possibility, go back and check the reports of the time you will not find one official request from the government of the US or a statement from Mr Obama requesting that this gentleman should have remained in detention, personally I believe he should have remained in jail, and I am a Scot and nationalist (small n). So stop playing your silly political game, it doesn't work and wise up to the ways of devious politicians everywhere.

It was a mistake to release Al Migrahi, he murdered hundreds and spent a few years for the atrocity.

Still no worse than the time Blair became best buds with Gadaffi.

Thankfully the new government seems to be moving Libya towards a better future , compared to Egypt

@sophie, sweetie please learn the diffidence between the Scottish government and the UK government, then you won't look so..lets say..asinine.

I don't care for the SNP and certainly not Alex Salmond, but lets not change history to create a narrative.

His justice minister released Al Megrahi, under medical advice, under a perfectly legal precedence under Sottish and English law.

The oil deal was done by Blair, but it's not like the USA ever promotes or supports a dictator for oil, like

Saudi Arabia, royal family

Saddam Husseins, Iraq

Shah of Iran,

Kuwait royal family,

Yemen

Etc etc

So, lets not by hypocrites about this.
