Question:
Why do Republicans let their children fight and die in corrupt foreign wars run by Bush?
2008-08-08 13:18:55 UTC
Is it lack of education that allows you to make such grave poor decisions about the very lives of your innocent children? How can you sleep at night? Your kids died for nothing. For big oil, Bush, vendettas, and other evil nonsense. Iraq hasn't brought America an ounce of freedom and the war on terror is complete nonsense. Remember, even if you believe the war on terror is real - it looks like al quaida has been doing just fine. A lot better than we are under Bush. You should be so ashamed. I'm ashamed and sick for you. Today is a very sad day to call yourself an American.

You say that today is a very sad day to call ourselves American; are YOU an American? If so, are you enjoying the freedom to worship (that is, if you're a person of faith)? Do you enjoy the freedom to vote (seems you're an Obama supporter)? Do you enjoy the freedom to spout vitriolic rants in Yahoo!Answers (you have that down pat)? If the answer to any of these is "yes", then you should be thanking those brave men and women, and their families, for their sacrifice and service to our country in order to secure your, and our, freedoms. If anyone should be ashamed of anything it is you for attempting to diminish the sacrifices made by every mother and father who sends their young adult off to war. Yes, today is a very sad day, indeed...sad that YOU call yourself an American.

First of all, parents don't "let" their grown, adult children do anything. These individuals made their own decisions. Why don't you forward your feelings to a soldier and see what he or she has to say about big oil, vendettas, and the lack of freedom? The soldiers I know and have seen interviewed feel that the cause in Iraq is noble and they are proud to serve their country in this way. They feel they have done a world of good in Iraq. I will never be ashamed to call myself an American, or to say I support George W. Bush in his quest to keep America safe and to keep the Middle East from becoming a terrorist haven.

By the way, your question is an insult to Democrats, as I am certain they have children fighting in the war as well that deserve acknowledgment and recognition.

I'm a 1st generation American and a Veteran. I'm having difficulty following you with republicans and all? Wilson, FDR, Truman, Johnson...these were all democrats. Refreshing you a little: That was WWI. WWII, Korea and Vietnam. It think it was Republicans who got us out of them. Though Truman ended WWII. Regarding the rest of it. I trained and fought with some of the best men I ever knew and ever will know. Many did not get to be as old as I am now. Our cause was noble. Bad things happen in war. It's not like TV at all. To save my family and to save any one of those wonderful men that I served with; I must confess that I would do most anything. If water boarding was chapter 1; I'd crack the book at around chapter 20. That's how I feel. Our enemies are not bound by any code or any scruples at all. Our enemies don't use books...they're naturals. They're not measuring us by some higher standard that's in the imagination of most desk jocks or arm chair politicians. (in recent generations, you'll look pretty hard before you'll find a democrat who actually served in the military) I disagreed with one of my contemporaries...John McCain when he ran on the platform. Was he tortured? Yes. Did North Vietnam sign the Geneva Convention? Also yes... This lofty platitude playing field may only exist in the minds of those that have never been on a real battlefield.

I'm a liberal, and even I think this is a rant. Insulting people is a violation of the community guidelines. I won't do it, but if some Republican reports you, they'll be well within their rights.

That said, if you look at Congress and the White House administration you will find that most of the Republicans responsible for the wars don't have kids in the military.

These children as you call them are adults. They join voluntarily and with full understanding that they may be called upon to serve in battle. Your sad little tirade and yes that is exactly what it is means nothing and ignores numerous actual facts. I celebrate the fine young men and women of our armed forces who unlike yourself have some pride in their country and more conviction than you could ever begin to understand. So don't feel sad for me and hide your own head in shame for posting garbage. I don't share your self loathing attitude and sleep just fine at night.

Because their 'kids' are adults and can make their own decisions.

I have no respect for Bush, his illegal war in Iraq and the fact that the man is no more than a corrupt lying whore.

But leave out the families of the military. They join the service to protect the nation. It is puds like Bush that put them in harm's way, not the parents.

And Democrats join the service too, so you are ranting and ill-informed.

Because decent people aren't like you. We don't believe that promoting democracy and freedom, or confronting those who would attack our country are "nothing."

While your own, obvious, lack of education and intelligence may prevent you from ever understanding the motivations of decent Americans... You can at least feel safe under the protection they've fought and died to provide you.

what is even more sad that you take for granted the people that die on your behalf, to let you live as you do now. you are the same person at the airport spitting on our troops.you are the same one who call our troops baby killers and murderers, mr. murtha, the ones that abuse the freedoms those troops have won and preserved for you. you deserve none of what you have at the cost of american lives. and i am ashamed and sick of you and your kind. i doubt even prayer will help but i will on your behalf, pray.

Well, you are sick and you should be ashamed... for spewing such mindless drivel.

The nonsense is all on your part, not ours. You are speaking from ignorance and illogic. Very typical of the Obama true believer.

Um, were you asleep when the junior senator was rallying western europeans to join his own "war on terror" in Afghanistan?

I'm sorry, but aren't adults allowed to make their own decisions, decisions like serving in the military?
