Question:
Question for all those who say they will leave Britain if the BNP gain power?
2009-03-03 11:09:18 UTC
I ask why bother waiting because it is obvious that the BNP are growing rapidly and if you left now just think how the unemployment figures would be helped.
So stop being selfish and leave i say and let us have our nation back thanks.

I will leave if the BNP gain power.

I will also leave if the tooth fairy is elected Prime Minister, and if Shergar wins the 2009 Derby, riden by Elvis Presley.

After all, these events are about equally likely!

50 councillors out of tens of thousands nationally, one London Assembly member and suddenly they're a government in waiting. It's hilarious.

Let's remind ourselves what the BNP stand for.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article633579.ece

.... and that's why no more than a few overt racists and those stupid enough to be conned by them will ever vote BNP.

EDIT: I think very highly of my fellow citizens - whenever asked in a national poll over 95% choose to ignore the racist thugs of the BNP. The British people are NOT racist or stupid, which is why the BNP will never gain a sniff of power.

MORE EDIT:

"Also when asked 95% agreed with their policies until told they were the BNP policies so it shows what you know then!"

Could you provide a link to evidence that statement, because I don't think it is true?

Here is some evidence for my assertion:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_National_Party#General_election_performance

This shows that the BNP's best ever General Election performance was 0.7% in the 2005 election. So that's 99%+ of voters did not vote BNP.

It did, however manage 4.9% in the 2004 Euro Elections - so that's rejection by only 95% of voters.

EVEN MORE EDIT: So that's a 'no', then. You can't substantiate your ludicrous claim. Thanks.

Apologies - evidence provided. It's very interesting. No 95% anywhere - 91% support on one policy, but varied on many others.

This bit was interesting....

"There was however strong opposition to more extreme policies on race - asked if they agreed that non-white people were inherently “less British”, only 16% of people agreed, with 68% opposed. When identified as a BNP support dropped to 11%, opposition grew to 76%. A majority also opposed the government encouraging immigrants to leave Britain "

STILL MORE:

Hang on a minute - your quote was "95% agreed with their policies" - actually 91% agreed with ONE policy - most were far less and many were small minorities in agreement.

I suggest people read the piece for themselves and draw their own conclusions.

To suggest this evidence shows widespread support for BNP policies across the board is to mislead. It shows that some BNP policies have some popularity, which falls when associated with the BNP.

I didn't bring race up - it was a direct quote, copied and pasted from YOUR article, which YOU posted.

And let's be clear, I wasn't willing to do YOUR homework (i.e. provide evidence for YOUR claims) - I'd already done my own!

I didn't call you a liar, I said that a statement you made was not true, which we now agree it wasn't. I suggest you made a mistake, not that you deliberately tried to deceive.

I think I can feel a blocking coming on!

If you really want to help the unemployment figures why don,t you empty the dole queues by getting most of the bnp supporters to leave the country. I believe that in bnp circles Thursday is known as Saint Giro,s day.

no longer an significant foothold, yet i think of of it could dollar the suggestions of the subsequent government if the BNP have been given a minimum of one MP this time around. a minimum of it could grant an illustration that surely definitely everyone seems bored to loss of existence with being exceeded over with connection with the more suitable undertaking concerns coping with the country.

Hahahaha, i would like to see the BNP deport 10 million people, they say they will give all immigrants money and funding if they leave the country. How are they going to get this money? Next thing you know they will be printing the money to save the economy.

What evidence do you have for the BNP growing rapidly.

They are a teeny tiny party who have a diminishing number of councillors and no MPs. In the last General Election Sinn Feinn got as many votes as they did and they only campaign in Ulster.

Well for a start the BNP will NEVER gain power in the Uk because the majority of the UK are well educated and do not get taken in by reactionary idiots who pander to reactionary uneducated points of view brought on by scare mongering panic merchants

It is those that support the BNP that should reconsider their place here

A small and insignificant party such as this has its day in a small way every now and then, but getting into parliament and wielding power is something they can never achieve.

My prediction, they snipe away from the edges with a gain here and there then losses here and there but never anything substantial. Keep dreaming.

I never cease to wonder what sort of people on here think bnp supporters are brainwashed by them, surely its the Tory and Labour parties that's doing the brainwashing, and its working a treat for them, keeping them in office for the past hundred years. Its time people woke up, thank goodness some of us are

The BNP won't gain power, they are too hated. I don't support them in any way but if they did get in I'd stay and vote them out at the next election.

The BNP will not gain power. They have difficulty finding candidates without criminal convictions as they are, by and large, the gutter sweepings of society. They remain an irritant, nothing more, like the Fascist parties on the continent.

Your comments are both uninformed and without logic. If you spent more of your time educating yourself in the bid to become less ignorant, you may learn something. Grow up and stop trying to get attention.
