Why won't Obama release his Birth Certificate? The Certificate of Live Birth doesn't have the name of the hospital or the doctor present.

In Hawaii:

Birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth and Certifications of Live Birth) and Certificates of Hawaiian Birth are the primary documents used to determine native Hawaiian qualification.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands accepts both Certificates of Live Birth (original birth certificate) and Certifications of Live Birth because they are official government records documenting an individual's birth. The Certificate of Live Birth generally has more information which is useful for genealogical purposes as compared to the Certification of Live Birth which is a computer-generated printout that provides specific details of a person's birth. Although original birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth) are preferred for their greater detail, the State Department of Health (DOH) no longer issues Certificates of Live Birth. When a request is made for a copy of a birth certificate, the DOH issues a Certification of Live Birth.

According to this wording on this official State Government of Hawaii web page, the term "birth certificate" is an "umbrella" term covering both Certificates of Live Birth and Certifications of Live Birth. They are not the same thing, but both are Birth Certificates. The Certification of Live Birth is just as valid as the Certificate of Live Birth, is just as much a Birth Certificate, and is considered prima facie evidence of Hawaiian birth for all legal purposes (as clearly stated on the bottom of the form), not only the Hawaiian Home Lands program.

Who cares about a live birth certificate or a birth certificate. Either one is good enough to prove citizenship. This is a non-issue. This is a boring controversy that has been ridiculed by every court that has encountered this. This is a insult to our election process and a insult to the transition of executive power. This is a conspiracy based on the assumption of a technicality to bar a citizen from the elected presidency... How pathetic. If the opposing ticket was able to win the presidency then this would never even be concieved... Pathetic and it reeks of a sore loser's protest. And by the way, JUST because Berg is or was a Hillary supporter (and I have nothing to support that but I'll take your word on this) does not give him more credibility than if he was a McCain supporter. I could care less even if he was a Nader supporter because it isn't relevant to his claims. Arguments should be made on facts and not motivations... his facts are unproven, calling something a forgery --that a state department and director has authenticated-- is not a valid argument. I could call the Bill of Rights a forgery but just saying that I am not allowed to handle it isn't proof. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff not Obama. Obama does not have to turn over anything that any other CITIZEN has the right to deny his personal records. To have a president-elect bow down to a crackpot would send a very dangerous precedent.

Hawaii, didn't started calling the Certificate of Live Birth, Birth Certificates until the 1980's. Obama was born before then, so obviously his "Birth Certificate" will read Certificate of Live Birth. Is the same thing, is just a matter of names.

Hawaii became official state of the US in 1959. Obama was born in 1961, they hadn't made all the necessary changes yet.

A certificate of live birth just means that the child wasn't stilborn. My birth certificate, my husband's and my son's all say "Certificate of Live Birth" and we were all born in Ohio. The hospitals where we were born are listed along with the attending physician's name and signature.

My birth certificate...and it does say birth certificate, doesn't have either on it. Does that make me illegal?

Legally, they are both the same thing. Let it go.

Oh look guize, it's this question again.

Obama is a muslim born on mars just as soon as 9/11 and TWA 800 were inside jobs.

Why would he show you anything? He's already proven he's a legitimate citizen. Besides, there is no document he could provide that would satisfy the birthers.

There's much more for him to gain by letting all of the birthers continue to make fools of themselves.

to be frank... I don't know... I'm not a birth certificate expert...

but, if the FBI, GOP and Hillary Clinton couldn't figure it out... then I doubt I'll be able to shed any more light onto the situation...

and if they are all in on it... then it doesn't matter anyways...
