Texas:

1) Created more jobs then other 49 combined
9/09 - 9/10 Texas 166,600 other 49 combined 154,400

2) Set to gain 4 new house seats from 2010 census
California may lose 1

3) 4 million person gain in census
California 1.5 million more left then stayed last decade

4) unemployment under national rate
Texas unemployment sept 2010 7.9% California 12.2% MI 12.3%

5) people from states like Michigan & California are flocking to Texas

6) Texas has NO income tax only state sales 6.5%

Texas stands at #2 in economy & population behind the once golden California. Today California is on a slide backward as liberal good intentions have lead to a sour business climate where once business thrived they now flee the over taxation & regulation. The population is not far behind following those jobs out of the state. With recent elections of more far left liberal progressives to lead the state who are putting all their hopes on "green magic jobs" and wish to raise taxes further. The state of Michigan which has been in a virtual depression for decades appears to be the road map California is following.

Texas meanwhile has add 221,000 jobs during the recession and has seen a steady rise in population as well. It has attracted the business fleeing high taxes and over regulation and people too attracted to the great job market and NO income tax.

WILL TEXAS SURPASS CALIFORNIA GIVEN THE CURRENT RISE OF THE LONE STAR STATE AND THE SLIDE OF THE TARNISHED GOLDEN STATE???

CA is on the fast track to the bottom. It provides the rest of us with a stark lesson in how liberalism ruins economies, communities, businesses and all other worthwhile aspects of life. I dumped all my CA assets five years ago and fled the state for much the happier grounds of AZ and I advise all friends and family to do the same while their assets retain some value.

Unfortunately, I predict that CA will come a-crawling to Uncle Scumbag, hat in hand, and will be given the billions necessary to perpetuate their decline for a few more years.

California has a better location. It's wealth comes from trade. Mostly Chinese and Japanese goods shipped to L.A. ports and then distributed to the rest of thecountry. Texas will continue to steal California jobs. because of the Longshoreman's union, the CHinese is finding alternative routes to ship their goods, and with their control of the Panama canal, more goods would end up shipped into ports in the atlantic. The thrid country California is a way point for shipping is Mexico, which Texas is better position to steal trade from California. It won't take over California's position, but Texas would do a whole lot of damage.

California is more like Greece where the public service unions control the politicians, and the state is bankrupt, passing out all these overly generous benefits packages and retirement.

Will it ever surpass our north eastern states though? Considering the revision of their history textbooks is incoming, I expect they won't.
