Arizona got a response. Texas is still waiting for an answer.

After repeated requests for help, President Barack Obama has agreed to send 1,200 National Guard troops to Arizona's border with Mexico. But so far, the president hasn't responded to Texas' request for assistance.

Gov. Rick Perry has sent letters to Obama, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano requesting National Guard troops for the Texas-Mexico border.

Almost a year and a half after the first letter was sent, Perry hasn't received an answer.

The only reason he is responding to Arizona is they passed their own law (good for them!). He is doing damage control to save his poll numbers from going to zero. He has also ignored the Tennessee floods. Not a single public acknowledgement of a flood that did 1.9 BILLION dollars worth of damage to the capital city. I honestly believe it is because we are all Red States.

The president is handling the situation as he is handling all the others. My opinion on this immigration problem should be all the borders needs all police officers to do check points until more help comes about. All illegal immigrants needs to come forward and get in line to become legal here. The immigrants that have children here that are illegal themselves need to be first in line and then there is also where the check points can be set up in seeking the illegal immigrants and all vehicles need to be checked with boats, trucks, etc in making sure new ones does not go further until the ones here already has been taken care of. It takes time and sending another letter would not hurt with also trying to do the check points by the law only and not by being or doing profiling and racial. This can also help stop some of it with also keeping the people safe by the law.

The National Guard is a state's own militia and can be activated by the governor for duty within the state without having to ask the President's permission. Why did Governor Good-hair, to borrow the late Molly Ivins' nickname for the worthless lump of Republican manure, wait all this time before he did his duty and activated the Guard?

He will. When it gets closer to November elections and Obama wants to make another phony show.

He really doesn't want to stop the illegals, he wants their vote. That's the name of the game. Not what we want but what he wants. Progressive socialism.
