Stimulus Package. I need to know what the point of it is, and how it will help us, what will it do?

I need to write an essay. I need to know about Obamas plan with the stimulus package..what does the stimulus package do? whats the point? how will it effect us? It would be nice enough on your opinions of how structure an essay about the stimulus package, i just want to see other people's views before i start writing this paper such.
on this paper i could either be FOR or AGAINST or be NEUTRAL on the stimulus package

The purpose of the Obama stimulus package is to grow big government, and pay back big labor unions, and big democrat banks.



Just look at the spending, all the money is going to government programs which will expand government with more government jobs, and to private sector labor union construction jobs, building government projects.



There is little to no money going to the non-union private sector jobs that have laying off by the millions per month.



This is because anyone getting a paycheck from the government, or a member of a labor union votes for democrats.



Just ask your teacher, or any state or federal employee, or welfare recipient, SS, SDI, etc, or any labor union member, who they vote for.

In theory government spending stimulates productivity in the private sector. This is known and Keynesian economics. Only one third of the stimulus package was directed in this direction, the rest was on social policies that Democrats have been trying to push for the last 40 years.



The biggest problem with the package is historically the only thing that government can do to get a country out of a recession is tax cuts (the 80's under Reagan) and war (WWII got us out of the Great Depression).

One of the biggest fallacies is that it is a stimulus package, that infers that it actually stimulates growth in jobs, gdp, housing, etc. All his package did was grow peoples need for government programs.

This new one is bunk. It will give the average worker 12 $ a week for x amount of weeks. Does it really matter how long, because 12$ = 0$ imo. Oh, but it will increase our debt by a major amount.

Obama used the economy "crisis" to pass a bunch of legislation that he had planned on passing anyway...



Just with the "crisis" no would would debate it...

Same as Bush did going into Iraq. He was going to do it anyway, but 9/11 gave him a perfect scenario where no one would question him (until years later)

Joe, first off good luck on writing your paper but I am going to be 100% honest with you about your question. Obama himself doesn't even have a clue what this stimulus package is going to deal with. Obama like many other liberals before him just like to spend money and then tax the heck out of people to get it back. As a matter of fact what Nancy Pelosi did once she became the queen mouth was that they pushed spending the next 15 years budget. But, they wont tell you that on CNN and I can bet the hero of the liberals Keith Olbermann wouldn't be able to locate one contact to tell you that :)



I live in Massachusetts and I will explain what this bill is doing for my state. After messiah aka "Obama" cried about how he was sick of earmarks and told the people he would see to it personally that their would be no earmarks during this crisis what did the pompous idiot do? Signed a 400$$$$ earmark check to pay off all his buddies and to help his other bleeding heart liberals who needed a back pocket donation. My state is looking at almost 10% unemployment. We just got 47 million from OBama and the taxpayer to us in this little old state. Guess where 26 million of it is going right off the bat? To the Kennedy memorial project!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the worst criminals in the history of our congress who is a sitting senator who actually got away with 3 murders is getting a building, park, library and a bronze statue while the unemployed sit at home wondering how they are going to eat their next meal or cloath their children. John Kerry just so happened to head the bill for this and guess what? IT passed by a landslide and got approved. Funny thing is Kerry was right by messiahs side during his campaign and Obamas brother in arms Duval "Gimmie a fin" Patrick did the exact same thing Obama did excet Obama completed it in 2 months and about 10 fold more considering the ammount.



Patrick walked into a surpluse of 4,7 billion dollars created by none other that Mitt Ronmey who rebuilt this state. In less than 2 years Patrick sunk us in the hole by 11.3 billion and it is growing. WHen Obama came to Massachusetts he was quoted as saying " If you want to know how I will run this country financially you need only look at my alter ego or my twin, Duval Patrick and learn from his excellent economic genious" Mind you this was when the people in my state wanted Patricks head for sinking us at around 8 billion at that time yet Obama told everyone just what he was going to do which was this:( I will tear apart Bush for spending money and tell everyone how it is so wrong. I will then spend double of the exact ammount I hung Bush on and you will hail me as messiah.) So, now you see Obamas plan for what it is. No one knows, not even our elected people have a clue except that it puts billions in the pockets of many groups who supported Obama during his campaign. Take ACORN for example, they wer number 17 on the list of receiving monies from this package. Nice to know Obama is going to take my tax money to pay off a crooked liberal enterprize that I was 100% against during the election.BUt you know what? America let him know that we didnt agree with his stimulus and you know what our beloved leader did? He told us all to basically screw off and that he will do what he wants because he knows whats best for us. Hmmm, seems a bit pompous for a guy who only had 2 years of political experiance under his belt yet his franchise will say Sara Palin didnt have the experiance even though she has 5x's as much as this current idiot?

Mind you this thing is thicker thatn the bible itself and as I said, no one knows what this bill is supposed to do but many of us know what it will do and this is it will sink our nation to a degree that not even 50 years of Bush could have done.
