Is this corruption just more “business as usual” with the Liberals in Washington?

The United States Government has entered into a contract with one firm to sell 56 buildings that currently house U.S. Post Offices. The government has decided that it no longer needs these buildings (many of which are located on prime land in towns and cities across the country).

The sale of these properties will bring in billions of dollars and, with that, millions of dollars in commissions for the one Company that is in charge of handling the sale and negotiation of the new leases.

What makes this such a matter of concern to me is that the Company that the Government has contracted with to conduct the sales (and the corresponding leases for the new locations of the displaced post offices) is chaired by Richard Blum.

What ? Didn't that name mean anything to you? Maybe I should re-phrase and say that the person that chairs the company that is solely in charge of this multi-million-dollar transaction is Richard Blum the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein. Surprise, surprise!

Well... Yeah.

But it's not just Democrats, Republicans are equally corrupt.

Remember that big old war in Iraq that we are still paying for? The one where Halliburton won all those reconstruction contacts. The same Halliburton vice president Cheney was CEO of before becoming vp. That's corruption on a grand scale, but perfectly acceptable in the American political system.

Corruption, to a significant extent, is business as usual with all governments in all time periods. Power corrupts. Money talks. Follow the money. Everybody has their price. Nice guys finish last - all that stuff has some basis in reality.

That kind of corrupt business practice has been going on in the US for at least 200 years. It is corrupt, it is illegal, and it is business as usual. Don't hold your breath waiting for things to change. You might look up Teapot Dome. There some of them actuall did prison time.

Yep. Business as sometimes conducted by certain Republicans and as always conducted by literally all Democrats.
