You have to realize that this 'courageous user' has such a mad school girl crush on Obama that any excuse or misdirection will do ... to maintain the delusion.

A question like this shows a fundamental lack of understanding of history and how the actions of one president impact and influence the decisions of his successors. Our poor relationship with Iran can be traced directly back to decisions made during the Eisenhower administration. Our overall relationship with the Middle East was greatly influenced, and damaged, by the policies of the Bush administration. Even the tapping of the Chancellor of Germany began under Bush. There is not a reset every time a new president takes office. It is ludicrous to suggest that the Bush policies don't influence some of the decisions made by Obama. They do, and the same will be true when decisions made by Obama influence decisions made by his successor.

Very few "leftists" are blaming them for the economic crash of 2007-08. Most of us correctly blame it on a succession of policies beginning with Reagan, or even earlier with outsourcing that started in the '70's. We then blame it on the cutting of taxes for the upper percentiles, along with the rest of the percentiles, but those at the bottom being raised again later. We blame it on Reagan's attack on unions and his encouragement of credit spending, both Federal and personal. We blame it on the Republican Congress and President Clinton that the Glass Steagall Act was repealed. And we blame it on the banks who decided to turn Fannie and Freddie into a cash machine once Glass Steagall was repealed. We also blame Alan Greenspan for not regulating those new stock objects called derivatives, something for which he later accepted blame.
I'm sorry if that is too complicated for someone who makes decisions based on the labels he puts on people to understand the world, but that is the truth. You keep on believing we blame Bush and Cheney for everything, just as you blame Obama for everything, and the rest of the world will continue around you.

The housing crisis was the biggest stock market collapse since the Great Depression.
Actually, considering how we managed to get out of that (with big bad government immediately coming to the aid of the financiers), I'd say we have it pretty good, six years down the road. Could have been worse.
Last time, there was over a decade of misery that was only alleviated by the economic activity brought about by a world war.

The USA that I am living in is in FAR from "bad shape"....did she actually say hers was still in bad shape, too? Or was she just asking a question that STILL hasn't been answered, which is "given what bad shape Bush & Cheney left us in, why is there still a GOP?"

Lol - it's funny how partisan fans forget all about how their guy blamed the previous guy for their entire term. Bush and Cheney blamed Clinton for all their problems. Clinton blamed Bush and Reagan, who blamed Carter, who blamed Nixon etc. etc. etc.
You're criticizing the other team for doing the same thing your team does.

Because Bush and Cheney still keep trying to push their political dynasties on us.
If you're going to run for Senate based on your Daddy being VP, then expect to be judged on his record.

Because, Jim, cons. like you keep thinking we leftists continue to blame Bush and Cheney. So, when you think of it, it's only in the cons. minds.

Clinton created the corporatism that outsourced our economy, and then signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act giving control of our economy over to the banking industry.

Ignorance. CIA has admitted that they knew Saddam had chemical weapons (WMD's).
