Are there any Anarchist or Communist (or even democratic socialist) political activist groups on Maui?

I have researched a lot and I haven't found one. I would really appreciate it if someone could point me out to one. I just moved to Hawaii and I want to get politically active.

Hawaii's Communist Party was dissolved in 1958, despite its considerable success. There are currently no major socialist, communist or anarchist groups active in Hawaii. The Green Party, which advocates an environmentally conscious social democracy, is probably the closest to your views, but still pretty distant.
You may be interested in following the "Hawaii Socialist Alternative" page on Facebook and there may be few Facebook groups worth joining. If you cannot find any relevant Facebook groups, you could always start your own group and invite people you know personally or advertise it somewhere where like-minded people can find it. You could even invite people who frequent the "Hawaii Socialist Alternative" page if you like. Additionally, you could start a website, online forum or Tumblr blog that promotes socialism, communism or anarchism. Over time, it may become possible to organize meetups and rallies to further your cause.

These are very different types of philosophies. I suggest you dig deep into each before you determine what group you would like to join. If none exists on MeetUp (Maui), It might be advantageous to schedule a your own group meeting. The radicals that I would trust have chosen the third way rather than pacifism or violence. Read the book "Jesus and Nonviolence: A Third Way" (Facets)Apr 1, 2003 by Walter Wink. .Television seems to promote violence as the solution to most problems, however, the powers that be can handle violence very effectively through their own violence. Violence is an ineffective approach to make positive changes. One bad government is often replaced with a worse government when violence is used. To make radical and positive changes, you need to find a third way.

Hawaii is the most Liberal and laid back place on earth. You will find social democrats but few communists. Try Russia or S.Korea it is full of communists.
