What were James Cameron's specific ideas for BP Oil?

I know he has commented on this and I know BP turned the ideas down?

But what were his actual ideas for the oil spill?

I heard that even another guy (I think from the east coast of Canada), has a great solution for this spill and has gone to the gulf with his idea. He suggests using a wax solution to absorb the oil, but he is not being taken into consideration. And I read that he has vowed to stay in the gulf region until he is taken into consideration.



I don't know what idea James Cameron offered but he is a great mind and if he is willing to step into this mess then the least B.P. can do is listen to what he has to say. I worry that what information on this oil spill being offered by BP is even at all accurate...in fact is it propaganda to quell the public,,,,NO ONE EVEN KNOWS with ACCURACY TO THIS DATE the amount of BARRELS OF OIL that are being spilled into the Gulf of Mexico. Well, thank you very much, maybe we are better off not knowing, denial is what we do best anyway us humans...



Meanwhile ocean life and human lives suffer, share holders get richer, just the way we like it in this demented world.



If this spill in no time soon is stopped, which is quite possible regardless of the b.s. BP has paid out to advertise...and if it hits Canada, Cuba, Mexico or other countries.... I hope that the U.S. and the other countries effected in the world will unite to find solutions to prevent this from ever happening again.



This spill has stirred up a lot of reaction including reaction from the big guys like the President of the U.S.A. and YES indeed all eyes are watching no doubt.



We have seen that it takes no time to destroy what we have taken for granted in our lifetime (clean ocean water) and what we want to exist in the future for the next generation to enjoy. And RIP all that have died in the explosion. This has to be prevented from ever happening again.



I truely hope the great minds like J.C.can help, and are being consider by these people at B.P. and not being ignored.

He supported the cap idea BP had, and having some government owned cameras down there.



It seems he's getting the impression that the reason BP is trying to handle everything on its own is to protect its image; having a movie director step in and solve the problem would be embarrassing.



Then again, this many weeks into the crisis, it's hard to say that's a viable motive; BP has already had several embarrassing failures, and accepting help would simply resolve the crisis faster and allow the public to forget about the crisis sooner.



I'm embarrassed by the responses you got to your question. This isn't another actor trying to step into the political arena. He's offering real experience and technology. Something I'm surprised the U.S. Navy hasn't already done, given that they routinely operate at lower depths than the rig as well, but maybe this will be the swift kick in the butt the CNO needs to respond.



I mean, when you knee-jerk react any time anyone from hollywood does anything, you do understand it damages your credibility a little bit? Makes it that much harder, not easier, the next time some celebrity tries to get you to vote no on something just based on their name?
