Must one throw away all common sense and embrace ideas like:

- Unemployment insurance stimulates the economy
- Higher taxes stimulate the economy
- Raising corporate tax rates creates job growth
- Faith in God is bad, faith in Government is good
- Everything must be regulated, and when it fails due to over regulation, blame the lack of regulation
- Think that Cuba has a better healthcare system than America
- Think that freedom of speech is only good as long as it's liberal speech

I do agree.. But it appears the entire paradignme has moved left. The Democrats are more Liberal and the Republicans are more Liberal.. Look at No child left behind, medicare part D, the destruction of civil rights and all the warfare.



On a scale of 10-1 10 being statist, 1 being anarchy.. the founders would average out at around 2.



The only role of government was to protect civil liberties and to defend from foreign agression (Not invade nations that don't have the intention or the capability to pose a threat)
