Why would Israel want the US to continue fighting its wars? Because we've done such a great job of spreading democracy and western values to Iraq?? I have the sense that most Israelis, including some of the current government, believe the middle east is far less stable as a result of US interventions and policies of the last 4 years.

Why do we have to continue to pay with our blood? Because the war and occupation provide good business opportunities for arms makers and other war profiteers, and we have a few stubborn-headedness "elected" leaders that simply want war.

It is called guilt. There is a kind of collective guilt that runs through the U.S. and the U.K. over the Holocaust that spurred the support of the Zionist movement. Contrary to the Zionist propaganda, Jews have always lived in the middle east and been a part of most of the middleeastern nations' populations. The Zionists that"returned" to Israel were mostly Europeans and most do not particualrly like Arab Jews.

As someone who really didn't care much for Carter, I have to say, when he was president he spent more time with the leader of Isreal than he did on ANYTHING. In his latest book he finally confess's up to what they truly are. He lost ALL his jewish friends and most are calling him something he has never been called before; a bigot. He's alot of things but bigot is not one of them. He discusses just how impossible their reasoning is and how they love to start wars they want others to fight for them. Is it any surprisse our V.P. is a jew? Is there any conection between the trouble he is involved with in the Libby case and how Libby is takeing the fall, and is it just coinsedence the war escalated when he told Bush and still does tell Bush what to do as president? Surely American people arn't so stupid we add 2 and 2 and keep comeing up with 3.

israel uses the threat of using nukes to keep us helping them. the world can't afford to let anyone use nukes against anyone. it started in the 1973 yom kippur war. if a citizen or group did this in America,it would be called extortion. AIPAC helps too.

for 2 reasons :

1- AIPAC (Jewish Lobby) control our politician ---they can end ur political career with one accusation of antisemitism and also all the help in funding the politicians

2- Groups of Evangelicals think they can speed rapture if they helped Israel ----- they do not care how many child can die in the process

sorry pal, but Al Qaida only used Israel as an excuse..the real reason they attacked us is because we're successful without being "true to Islam" which annoys the heck out of those who claim that Allah will smite anyone who doesn't worship him properly

The Christian right is the reason. They believe biblical prophecy so much they are willing to risk the entire world and all the people in it to protect it. Lemme give this thought to you Christian rights, It says in the bible that the anti-christ whom you believe in so much is true, will be someone that all people as well as Christians will follow, ever thought maybe it's right under your nose in being Isreal? just think about it.

It’s not a question of why we are fighting Israel’s wars…we have been duped into believing that the state of Israel is our friend. The state of Israel is a Zionist manifestation and is completely inconsistent with the scriptures. There is not to be a state of Israel until the advent of the messiah…period.

Now the reason we fight these wars is because they are really a part of the Zionist/US plan to dominate the oil rich Middle East. Israel is the perfect cover for the US in its efforts to do this. The US gets to blame the Israelis for things that go wrong and the Israelis can blame the US. But remember US and Israel are the same entities, and the Israeli lobby controls the US Congress…Republicans and Democrats. This is why you never hear any politician truly criticize Israel. If they do then Foxman and those of his ilk will come forth with a dossier of their indiscretions and ruin them. Or worse, accuse them of being anti-Semites. There used to be a thought that an anti-Semite was someone that didn’t like Jews. But in a more modern context…an anti-Semite is someone that the Jews don’t like.

The REAL reason, right or wrong, is quite simple.

Taking care of Israel gives us presence and an ally in the region. Same with Afghanistan, Kuwait and soon to be Iraq, if we can secure the country. This allows us to have more embassies and bases over there which gives us direct influence in the region as a whole and over countries like Iran and Syria specifically.

This is why Iran is trying so hard to get us out of the region. If Iran were allowed to gain significant influence in Iraq it would go along way toward helping them achieve their goal of becoming a Superpower. Iran's government are too crazy for us to allow that to happen. They know we won't allow them to if we are there, which is why they want us out so bad.

There is also the US National Security aspect. Having a large presence in Middle East may give us more insight in to what is going on over there and whether or not threats to the US are brewing.

Having presence in the region and especially in Iraq, will also give us more influence on the oil producing countries as well. Which may eventually help us decrease our dependency on OPEC oil.

For the most part, it is for the purpose of protecting OUR country that we protect so many others. Although, as with any good thing, it's not all perfect.

We have not lost one man, unless a volunteer, in any Israeli war. We are not fighting in Iraq to protect Israel, they could protect themselves without our help.

Iran has said numerous times that it is going to drive Israel into the sea, where have you been?

Israels enemies are our enemies. They all hate us as much as they hate Israel. We are the evil Satan! We are not taking on any one of the nations surrounding Israel; Israel takes care of them for us as much as for themselves. Where do people get this drivel?

Because of lies of Islam like the ones you propagate here...

Zionist, etc. are buzzwords for intolerant people who blindly follow whatever anti-U.S. or Iraeli propoganda is out there.

Wake up and smell the coffee, Islam at the point of a sword is all they are after. Don't try and make 9/11 into some great political point we could have avoided.

WOA! i didnt think people were THIS uninformed!!

We attacked Iraq because of ISRAEL!?

I dont think so! your all confused!!

We know that IRAN (NOT IRAQ) has created scud missles that can travel just over the exact distance it would need to strike Israel. Thats a threat. Thats not why we went to war with Iraq.

#1 they werent even around then

#2 israel never had any say in us going to Iraq

#3 WE NEVER RECIEVED ANY ISRAELI INTELLIGENCE!

We started investigating Saddam back in the '80's!

This is a very quick summary of Congress's findings based on reports from UNSCOM (A US/U.N. investigative organization, NOT Israeli...)

The Congress makes the following findings:

(1) On September 22, 1980, Iraq invaded Iran, starting an 8 year war in which Iraq employed chemical weapons against Iranian troops and ballistic missiles against Iranian cities.

(2) In February 1988, Iraq forcibly relocated Kurdish civilians from their home villages in the Anfal campaign, killing an estimated 50,000 to 180,000 Kurds.

(3) On March 16, 1988, Iraq used chemical weapons against Iraqi Kurdish civilian opponents in the town of Halabja, killing an estimated 5,000 Kurds and causing numerous birth defects that affect the town today.

(4) On August 2, 1990, Iraq invaded and began a 7 month occupation of Kuwait, killing and committing numerous abuses against Kuwaiti civilians, and setting Kuwait's oil wells ablaze upon retreat.

(5) Hostilities in Operation Desert Storm ended on February 28, 1991, and Iraq subsequently accepted the ceasefire conditions specified in United Nations Security Council Resolution 687 (April 3, 1991) requiring Iraq, among other things, to disclose fully and permit the dismantlement of its weapons of mass destruction programs and submit to long-term monitoring and verification of such dismantlement.

(6) In April 1993, Iraq orchestrated a failed plot to assassinate former President George Bush during his April 14-16, 1993, visit to Kuwait.

(7) In October 1994, Iraq moved 80,000 troops to areas near the border with Kuwait, posing an imminent threat of a renewed invasion of or attack against Kuwait.

(8) On August 31, 1996, Iraq suppressed many of its opponents by helping one Kurdish faction capture Irbil, the seat of the Kurdish regional government.

(9) Since March 1996, Iraq has systematically sought to deny weapons inspectors from the United Nations Special Commission on Iraq (UNSCOM) access to key facilities and documents, has on several occasions endangered the safe operation of UNSCOM helicopters transporting UNSCOM personnel in Iraq, and has persisted in a pattern of deception and concealment regarding the history of its weapons of mass destruction programs.

(10) On August 5, 1998, Iraq ceased all cooperation with UNSCOM, and subsequently threatened to end long-term monitoring activities by the International Atomic Energy Agency and UNSCOM.

(11) On August 14, 1998, President Clinton signed Public Law 105-235, which declared that `the Government of Iraq is in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations' and urged the President `to take appropriate action, in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws of the United States, to bring Iraq into compliance with its international obligations.'.

(12) On May 1, 1998, President Clinton signed Public Law 105-174, which made $5,000,000 available for assistance to the Iraqi democratic opposition for such activities as organization, training, communication and dissemination of information, developing and implementing agreements among opposition groups, compiling information to support the indictment of Iraqi officials for war crimes, and for related purposes.

SEC. 3. SENSE OF THE CONGRESS REGARDING UNITED STATES POLICY TOWARD IRAQ.

It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime.

Thats a small cut from An Act signed by President Clinton in 1998, called the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998!
