FACT: Republicans controlled the entire govt between Jan 2001 and Jan 2007 when dems were sworn in. During that time of ENTIRE REPUBLICAN CONTROL they ran massive record deficits.

You can not blame these record deficits on democrats.

Here are the OFFICAL budget numbers from the CBO:

2000 - 236 Billion SURPLUS under Clinton
2001 - 128 Billion SURPLUS under Clinton
2002 - 158 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2003 - 378 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2004 - 413 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2005 - 318 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2006 - 248 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2007 - 161 Billion deficit under Bush with republican congress
2008 - 459 Billion deficit under Bush with Dem congress
2009 - 1.2 Trillion deficit - Bush was pres the first 4 months of this budget which includes his 700 Billion in bailouts and the expected 600 billion deficit for a total of 1.2 trillion

Source : CBO Historical Budget Data

Reagan increased our debt an average of 24% yearly...he tripled it from 934B to 2.6B (189%)
Bush increased our debt an average of 11% yearly...he doubled it from 5.7 to 10.6 trillion (91%)
Obama increased our debt 16% in his first year from 10.6 to 12.3 trillion (to stop a great depression)

(Data from the US Treasury Bureau of Public Debt - http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/NPGateway

FACTS SHOW THAT REAGAN AND BUSH SET RECORDS FOR DEBT INCREASES AND DEFICIT INCREASES

You know ... when your argument against the evils of the Republican Party can so easily be turned around on the Democratic Party, I'm not sure it's the wisest approach.

Of course ... you're willing to LIE to make your point; so, I guess if truth is out the window then ... everything else is on the table too.

Let's look at 2008 and 2009. 459 billion is absolutely ON BUSH! No question! And NO true conservative will defend that! The Tea Party movement and the revival of conservatism in general is simultaneously rising up against the so-called Rhino Republicans AND the big-spending Democrats.

But your utterly ridiculous ploy to try to pin the LEAP from 459 billion in '08 to 1.2 trillion in '09 on Bush, because ... and I quote you ... "Bush was pres the first 4 months of this budget...."

I mean, you yourself admit that Bush didn't even have Congress for ALL of 2007, 2008, and his "4 months" in 2009. Maybe the CBO doesn't teach you who spends money, but a little research will tell you that the President can't spend a dime without Congressional approval!

So ... here we are being blamed for 2007 through 2009 deficit spending when ... a Democratic Congress was pulling the purse strings! But more importantly is what happened after Obama took office in January 2009! What? Obama didn't push Congress like CRAZY to pass a nearly trillion dollar "stimulus" bill because ... as he said, it was URGENT to right the economy, create or save jobs, etc.? THAT never happened? And THAT didn't radically increase the deficit?

I mean ... C'MON! Even Democrats admit that Obama has tripled the deficit! Even Democrats admit that Obama has increased the deficit by more real dollars in a shorter time than any president in history! But they BLAME BUSH for turning over such a horrific economy that Obama "had no choice" and so on.

You're the first to try to pin the trillion on Bush because he slept in the White House 20 days into 2009. Creative! Untrue, but ... creative! This is what most Americans hate about partisan politics! Convincing people means more than being honest. So, just keep repeating it. Some will believe it!!! And that's good enough for the partisan hacks.
