No more than it does already, we just will be paying for it instead of people without insurance going to the ER and skipping the bill.

Same as for socialized Medicare, lady.

1. ER - better than today! Waiting room time only, without all those uninsured, non-urgent-need folks clogging up the system. AND, no insurance forms to fill out.

2. X-Ray - As needed, on the spot, because the price is already set.

3. MRI - As needed, on the spot, because the price is set.

4. Organ transplant - BETTER than today because ALL people will be in the database AND they will have received health care so that if they have an untimely death and donate their organs, doctors will know the medical history of that individual.

5. Transfusion - as needed, on demand, for surgery. Same as today.

6. Bypass or stent - Better than today because prices are set, and fewer people live uninsured, risky lives.

7. Dental is not part of the plan. Your employer carries a separate dental policy.

8. Vaccination - fast and easy, and delivered by doctors to all. That reduces YOUR risk when everyone is vaccinated.

9. Physical therapy to recover from injury - just like today under worker's comp, it is available as needed.

10. Surgery - Available as needed. Broken bones are set in a doctor's office. Ruined nerves are treated by psychiatrists. Neither is a surgical matter, generally.

The link above will show you our (Canada's) approximate wait times in the best of circumstances. You wont have a private option if your legislators force what insurers must cover... so far that's what your ridiculous soon-to-be-full-fascist government is proposing.

No offense, but the Americans that are wanting this are a few fries short of a McDonald's Happy Meal. You have a pseudo-socialized system with Medicare as you still use private practices. Medicare is government INSURANCE not health care. Nothing about your health care market is competitive. If you guys do this, don't saw we didn't warn you. You will find plenty of Canadians, Brits, Frenchman, etc that love their system but you have to find someone that has experienced the American system to get a true answer and a true comparison. I know of NO Canadian that has experienced the American health care industry that prefers the Canadian/socialized health care.

Based on other socialist health care programs.

1. 8 hours in waiting room.

2. Several days.

3. up to 90 days.

4. Won't happen unless board approved, 6 months minimum for approval than maybe a year or two before procedure.

5. good luck!

6. weeks.

7. Maybe a month after initial visit.

8. Depends on quantity.

9. Needs board approval, several months.

10. Get at the back of line and hope they don't run out of medication or casting material. My ex wife now lives in Canada and she said it was horrible, and she couldn't get anything done. Most of the people she talks to come to the U.S. to get the care they need, and if you need a specialist your SOL if you live there.

well if you use Canada as a example...

Long waiting lines are a fixture of the system. The Fraser Institute, a Vancouver think tank, has calculated that in 2003, the average waiting time from referral by a general practitioner to actual treatment was more than four months. Waiting times vary among specialties (and, less wildly, among provinces), but remain high even for critical diseases: The shortest median wait is 6.1 weeks for oncology treatment; excluding radiation, which is longer. Extreme cases include more than a year’s median wait for neurosurgery in New Brunswick. The median wait for an MRI is three months. Since 1993, waiting times have increased by 90%

Many hours to a day for the ER visit for sure.

X-Ray, forget about, only the most most important people can get that and there will probabaly be a limit.

MRI maybe a few months to a year

Organ Transplant....dream about it

Blood transfussion....a few years

By-Pass surgery...the person who needs it the most and the person that is the youngest

Dentist...not gonna happen, we will live

Obama doesn't know what he is doing.

The Democrats are so blind, all the know is that it's FREE but they will be suprised when they find out that the governemnt will control there every move health wise. They will think that the Doctor can do something about it but they can't.

He is an Idiot and everyone that supporst him is one too.

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think. Oh I am sorry you probably do not have a brain. I on the other hand will be happy to buy you a plane ticket to come here and see if you have the nerve to say that to someone I know.

Before you go an anti-ObamaCare jag Why don't you take a couple of minutes to flesh-out your list and tell us what's wrong with you and what doctor told you that you needed to have those procedures performed on you ?

If anything, it should be a little quicker with the new plan... as figuring out what insurance you have, and then what they feel like paying for, will be easier.

As it is now, we still wait for non-vital medical care (just as other country's like Canada do).

It would depend on your age and how much money is flowing in to this system. What the costs and benefits would be for the entity that is paying for it. How many people are in line ahead of you. How many people would abuse free health care because of no cost to them?

Like Canada....probably most of those things you would not be seen for.

...try only receiving

..pain meds

...dentures

...peg legs

..maybe a stitch or two

Its optional, you can pay for the extremely overpriced private care that isn't too great anyway. Take your pic.
