That Swiss claim is a copout on the part of the Swiss; they already had their minds made up.

"The Swiss government declared renowned film director Roman Polanski a free man on Monday after rejecting a U.S. request to extradite him on a charge of having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl."



If Obama (or the DOJ) wanted Polanski to go free, why in the world would they have made an extradition request? They wanted to bring Polanski back to the US for trial. The Swiss government refused to grant the request.



Obviously the US and the Swiss disagree on Polanski, even though the two countries remain generally on good terms.
