government functions just very impatient people, or does it simply make a statement of how conservatives run things in conservative areas?

Why is it that conservatives get so frustrated with government functions while it's the opposite with liberals?

This question confuses me. All humans get frustrated at one thing or another. Personally, I'm the most patient person most will ever meet. I understand that every business, government or private, is full of overworked, underpaid and under staffed employees. So I don't complain about waiting. I only get frustrated with rude people. I can't tell you how many times I've been snapped at, talked down to and/or blown off by a DMV employee. Rudeness is rarely called for and yet it seems to be the order of the day in some places. I know a lot of their clientele are unreasonable. But that's not a reason to be less than courteous.

That said, where do you get the impression libs are more patient than cons? This particular scenario doesn't really favor either party.

You think it is acceptable to wait, some times for hours at the DMV? I suppose you enjoy waiting 45 minutes at the post office to buy stamps or send a package because there is only one clerk?

How long do you think Wal-Mart or your local grocery store would stay in business if you had to wait 45 minutes because they only had one clerk?

How does the DMV stay in business with such rotten service and surly employees? Because it is a government run monopoly and you have no choice.

Or how about Amtrak? High prices, bad service, constantly late trains and a horrible safety record and they lose $2 billion a year. How do they stay in business? Government subsidies. However much they lose every year the government uses our tax dollars to keep them afloat.

And where in America do you find the worst health care? The VA hospital. Owned and operated by the federal government.

With this kind of track record how much do you want the feds to be in charge of? Health care, banking, the auto industry, housing, energy, manufacturing? How much waste and inefficiency can we afford? How much bureaucracy can we stand?

Huh? I don't know what you are talking about. I live in Oklahoma, which is quite a conservative state evidenced by the fact that every single county voted Republican in both the '04 and the '08 Presidential elections, and any visit I've ever had to the DMV lasted less than ten minutes.

Think about this.

If the DMV was run by lets say, Walmart, do you think people would be waiting in long lines for 20 minutes? Would the fees be as high?

If the fees were too high, and the wait was too long, another company who saw the opportunity for profit would come in and fill that demand. This is how every 'service' offered by a government monopoly would function if left to a free market.

Every government agency is run as inefficient as it can be, since inefficiency creates the call for a greater budget the following year...Efficiency is simply not rewarded in government, the result of efficiency is budget cuts. It is the exact opposite of free market services.

Government in no way shape or form rewards efficiency. Not in any aspect you can name.

If the people at the DMV see 50 or 500 people a day it all pays the same and the lunch break comes right on time doesn't it?

Most conservative don't like waiting in line at the DMV because, unlike liberals, they work. Liberals on the other hand can spend half a day waiting at the DMV and the other half in line at the welfare office. What do they care?

Government functions don't make profits! The private sector is who PAYS GOV'T ! Gov'ts income and budget funding comes from US THE PEOPLE! Now they want to tell us what we must do? It don't work that way in AMERICA! GOV'T WORKS FOR US! The Majority Tax Payers don't want America to COLLAPSE! Like the Majority liberals in DC are planning to do!

What is frustrating is that they call the numbers out in spanish.

Liberals like it because next to the dead, illegals make up the third largest voting block for the socialists.

I find many conservatives to be just plain angry and intolerant of a great many things. Everything is about how the world is falling apart around THEM. It's about how things shouldn't work this way or people shouldn't act that way...

Case in point: Patient Sailor below me. WTF, why do you care if they yell the numbers out in Spanish & English? This is what I'm talking about...
