Ya know I tend to remember that you used to look for that in a president. I think it would make sense that you have a military background before running for president, I think it should be a requirement. We are at war, he was a p.o.w. and i think that should be a good thing. Dangerous if you don't have an idea what it takes to give up a few years of your LIFE to your country. Let alone being stuck in prison getting the hell beat out of you for years. Harkin, yeah-dud lied about his service. What the hell does he know about combat, he never saw it. He just said he did to get votes, another member of the "most honest congress"

Harkin is a liar. At one time Harkin said that he was a AF fighter pilot in nam. He was just a ferry pilot. And most presidents had some type of military experience. Clinton loathed the military.

There's nothing wrong with the military. The lives we live are because of their sacrifice. Tom Harkin is just another loony liberal. McCain's background is perfect for leading this country in the world we live in today.

*****I like you:-)

they will do and say anything to get a democrat elected...

it has been many years since McCain was in the military...he has more experience outside the military than in it...as a matter of fact much of his military career was spent as a prisoner of war than in active duty...he knows more about how congress works than about how the military works however he does know more about the military than anyone else running...that's it, Have no choice now but to vote McCain as he knows more about how our government runs than does Hillary or Obama and he knows more about how our military works than does Hillary or Obama

sure it does. as it did washington, kennedy, lincoln and about 25 other presidents.(sarcasm) harkin is an jackass who would rather us be submissives to the rest of the world. just because he has no backbone does not mean that the rest of us should huddle in a corner and wait for the boogie man.

Does Obama's complete lack of any experience in things military render him dangerously incompetent to be commander in chief should a crisis occur?

Obama's lack of military experience would be the same disaster Carter was.

Darn right!

Can't have a military man in charge of our military! Certainly not when we have a war going on!

That would be silly.

Hi, Micheala here.

1) I don't know, but I like you.

2) No. In fact, I was talking to good friend who served in Nam, combat (shell shock, etc.) and he is as level-headed as anyone else. McCain's military experience, including his POW years, I believe strengthens him as a nation leader. You don't take freedom for granted.

3) Give me a medal of honor war hero as leader of my nation don't care how old he is. Enemies are more likely to attack when defenses are weak rather than strong.

What part of that equation don't these libs understand?

Well, gotta go for now. See ya later.

Hey, can I take the name "Number One Fan Of Why Don't People Like Me?" Oh, probably woundn't fit on the screen.

He's a "hot head" and god knows what he would do if he didn't get his way. We saw how poorly Bush lead, we don't want more of the same McCain.

Besides McCain would live in the past, and we need a forward looking leader.

lets not mention the ptsd issue and the fact that he was known as songbird McCain when he was a prisoner of war by his fellow prisioners...
