Who really controls the messages that we read and listen to everyday?

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity rail against the "liberal media". But what media are they referring to??

These radio hosts are, in large part, broadcasted by ClearChannel. ClearChannel also carries most of the broad casts for other hosts on Air America. They also carry "Keep Hope Alive" by Jesse Jackson and "The Steve Harvey Show". In fact, outside of conservative talk radio, ClearChannel carries many broadcasts for urban music radio stations.

Strangely enough, most urban stations constantly repeat catch phrases promoting a reduction in local crime, such as "peace on the streets", but then invest large amounts of airtime to artists that promote violence.

Getting back to my original question:
Which "liberal media" are Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity referring to? Any entity that fails to parrot there reactionary ideology? Or are they pointing a finger toward a very large media entity of which they themselves knowingly play a role in supporting?

Is it all about a liberal or conservative media or a small group of large conglomerates that broadcast conflicting messages in order to achieve social control and maintain cultural hegemony?

Furthermore, is the conservative media little more than a carefully devised social construct?

The conservatives and pseudo-conservatives criticize the journalists and broadcasters indoctrinated by neo-Marxist professors in their liberal arts colleges. Those professors typically entered the ivory towers of universities at a young age and never really left that cloistered environment. Sabbaticals from it are usually again in a controlled and planned environment where their prejudice blinds them to all but what is their intended focus. They live in a world invented by their deluded minds and they indoctrinate their students into their own bigotry.



To answer your last question, none of it is carefully devised. People just use their writing or broadcasting talents to spew general prejudices. As I noted, much of that is indoctrinate into most media people -- as it was into you -- by the neo-Marxists in the universities.



PS: Marxists were the original "reactionaries." They are infamous for lying and torturing (to be fair that was mostly Bolsheviks, Maoists, and other totalitarian communists) whenever that suited their bigoted purposes (Orwell became famous writing about that). They reacted to the liberal (yes, liberal: advocating individual freedom, weak government, and free markets -- Marxists also lie about what is actually "liberal") bourgeois capitalists abandoning the "social contract" implied for the conservative aristocracy they replaced in business. The bourgeois employers accepted no responsibility for the proletariat beyond handing them a day's pay for their day's work.



PPS: True liberalism advocates: individual freedom, weak government, and free markets. Conservatism advocates: moral responsibility, strong government, and protected markets. Socialism advocates: social responsibility, omnipresent government, and controlled markets.

Not sure but this is what I read according to some Pew Poll. The majority of Americans get their news from Cable. About 80%, Of that percent, Fox News has by far the biggest audience. So does that mean most of the country is controlled? That would leave a real small minority listening to "liberal" media yet they "parrot there reactionary ideology" are they controlled also? How come fox is doing a better job?

Every republican I know is going through something that has to do with the drug companies. Serious illness which I believe has beeen brought on by the terror they experience from subliminals that are on the right wing media programs. I won't listen to any of it nor would I go into one of their churchs. They are braiwashed all around



I just saw the movie Eat Pray, Love & thought about telling a republican couple I know to go see it. The wife is very ill. This movie is about inner guidance being within & it is so far from everything they think about. .

The media controls the information we hear. It is inarguably biased one way or another. But the media isn't as polarized as people think. There is left-leaning media and right-leaning media, but for the most part, it isn't as totally and completely left or right as "liberal and conservative," there generally is an opposing side offered and the right-leaning media will agree with some aspects of the left and the left-leaning media will agree with some aspects of the right. Not always, but sometimes.



*Most* of the media is left-leaning. Not liberal, but left-leaning. Fox, of course, is right-leaning so will think that the other news sources are liberal, and vice versa.

When you hear someone beating down an American tradition, find out who and what they are. When you find someone beating down white gentiles, research who and what they are. Find out who that anti-American nonAmerican is, over and over. You'll know after you make this effort who's influencing your opinion.
