If the Obama campaign was trying to make up for Obama's failed debate performance, they failed at that task. You are right, any message was lost to Bidens rude and disrespectful debate style.
He practiced for SIX DAYS and still couldn't keep that under control.

Biden was good at being Biden.
He now has people talking.
Even the ones who are insulted.
This all brings attention to the real issues,
be it good or bad.
He did what he needed to do.
He spoke to the people and what mattered to them.
Taking care of our seniors, now and later.
Women are smart enough to make their own decisions.
No more wars on credit.
Taxation equality.
How can anyone be against that, lol?

There was no "weird behavior" on the part of Vice President Joe Biden...and I watched the entire debate on an uninterrupted C-SPAN. His broad smile was a nonhostile expression of bemusement at the immature and egomaniacal Ryan's distortions and obfuscations. So you are against smiling now?
I was disappointed with the President's low-luster performance, which I assumed was related to the fact that on his 20th wedding anniversary (the date of the first Presidential debate), his lovely and loving wife was brought to his hotel---a mistake that any good football coach would have advised against.
Romney's sociopathic shape-shifting and pathological lying went essentially unchallenged that night, but not so with Vice President Biden's disputes and counterpoints during the Biden/lyin'-Ryan exchange. Joe's a good guy---even a heroic guy, and I was proud of him. Ryan is a MENACE--a right-wing nation-destroying religious-fanatic egomaniacal Ayn-Rand afficianado with a Me! My! Mine! fixation that is wrong for Americans and wrong for this GOP-damaged nation.

Biden and the moderator were a tag team to make sure no solutions to any problems got discussed.
