Should he be praised? Or do you think his efforts still aren't good enough?
What are your thoughts??

He's acting as if this is something new, that his foresight has gotten the situation in Iraq to a point where he can draw down troop levels, when in fact, all the he's done is confirm the original time table set out before the surge began.

Plus,he has no more troops to surge with. The idiot's finally got the military on the brink of ruin.

When all is said and done, future generations can look back and realize that America wasn't defeated by an external enemy, but by neoconservative incompetence.

Yes, he is trying to play the American citizens with this so call troop withdrawal. He isn't planning to decrease half the levels after the surge. They will push the numbers around, and play like they are bringing home the promised number of troops...but at the end of the day there will still be over 100,000 troops in Iraq.

It was expected that he would not be calling for a withdrawl and eventually the 30k from the surge will be recalled. He is sings the same tune as every other speech and completely ignored the real issues of the country.

He's essentially agreed to bring back the "surge troops" over an extended period of time . . . I think we all thought the surge would be temporary, thus the term "surge." So I think he's just doing what he intended to do all along . . . However, technically I would not qualify this as withdrawal. Is neutral an option.

i praise him everyday, of all he is doing to keep us safe. He is not playing with us - it's simple logic: he gets reports from the generals, and iraqi police reports and the iraqi government reports and whats happening on the ground. He looks them over carefully talks to his advisors from what they have seen in the way of success so far and the progress report.

Then he asks for opinions from both parties and then they draw up a conclusion of what the next move will be and then he addresses it to the nation. That's how you get things done the right way.

If you raise the troop levels 30,000 and then drop them a year later to the pre-surge level then you still have 130,000 troops in Iraq. That doesn't sound like something to jump for joy about.

No.

He is just "staying the course" as he always has.

After the troop draw down, troop levels in Iraq will be the same as pre-surge levels.

Return to the "Stay the course" plan.

It was so effective before.

ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE THE LAST WAS WILL BE IN BABYLON, WHICH IS IRAQ. NO, BUSH SHOULD NOT BE PRAISED. THIS IS NOT BUSH'S WAR, THIS WAR BELONG TO GOD THE FATHER. I'M TELLING YOU THE TROOPS WILL BE PART OF GOD'S COMING. OUR TROOPS REALLY ARE FIGHTING THE DEVIL IN IRAQ. ONLY ONE THAT WILL STOP THIS WAR WILL BE GOD HIMSELF AND THIS WAR IS GOING TO KEEP GOING. NOT BUSH OR THE DEMOCRATS CAN STOP IT. CHECK YOUR HISTORY OF THE BIBLE, EVERYTHING THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE IN IRAQ, BUT OF COURSE IRAQ WAS UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME AT THAT TIME. IRAQ IS PART OF THE LAST DAYS.

If Bush had ever soldier in their own beds tonight, the left would still hate him. Our soldiers lives make no difference to them one bit, it's all about what's good for the party, and not the country.

You bet he is. He's only pulling out some of the surge troops. He thinks he's slick.

Bring home a couple thousand here, a couple thousand there....and commit three times that amount by next December.

By the way Mbush....exactly how many soldier's funerals has your hero attended, again?

He is only doing it to help out the republican party, to give a sense of hope. 5,000 is nothing compared to 35,000 in a year still is way to slow.

If they would of keep the Iraqi army together when they surrendered we would of been home by now.

No he's not playing with us with the troop withdrawal, yes he should be praised, yes his efforts are good enough. My thoughts...this President doesn't play games, his name is GW Bush, not Clinton! Thank you

I think he will continue to listen to the people who know what they're talking about: his generals who been there and done that. Not politicians.
