Why did the person who asked the question about Thanksgiving starting in MA delete it?

The holiday of Thanksgiving did indeed begin in Massachusetts, NOT Virginia. While it is true that white people from England settled in VA before the Pilgrims landed in MA, it was the Pilgrims who had the first Thanksgiving dinner. It is also true that the English settlers gave thanks to God after landing in Virginia, but they didn't have a big turkey dinner. It was merely a prayer of thanksgiving, and it was not the origin of the Thanksgiving holiday. The holiday that all Americans will celebrate tomorrow began in Massachusetts. Virginians like to rewrite history to make themselves look better.

Because he looked like a fool. He was wrong in his assertion that the first Thanksgiving started in MA. It did not! Then he had the gaul to bring a liberal stance to the debate.

Funny how all the conservatives now absoutely abhor the place where these United States formed, where the first shots of the American Revolution were fired, where Sam Adams ran through the night on his horse shouting warnings that the English were coming...

While all this was happening, their beloved South was filled with French people and Spaniards, ironically enough.

HERE'S TO THANKSGIVING. A holiday where people you don't like and can't stand come over to your house with nothing but their appetites, over eat and over indulge, drink all your booze, flatten the cushons on your sofa, then leave without even helping to clean up afterwards (but not before giving you their Christmas lists) Nothing embodies the American spirit of the new millenium like Thanksgiving.
