If the caravan are people "looking for a better life" why are they flying the flag of the country they're so dead set on getting away from?

If they apparently hate their country so much, and are willing to wall hundreds of miles to apply for ASYLUM (which is a Visa where you have to prove your own country is so terrible that you might be killed if you stay there), why are they flying the flag of the supposed "terrible country" they're trying so hard to get away from?

It makes absolutely no sense.
