Remember, we are comparing COVID-19 which had no effective medication against flu which has a vaccine.



Also, I suspect that the number of flu deaths is much more accurate than the number of COVID-19 deaths.

That's what I've been learning doing my own research apart from the fearmongering media. The media flexed its muscles with this one, they were able to convince the world that this virus was as bad as the plague and world leaders fell for it and in essence shut the planet down for the flu.

Pretty accurate.  It's always been pretty accurate.  If you counted flu deaths the insane way they counted this you'd be around 200,000 deaths some years with it.  It was 100,000 counting sanely just two years ago.
