Why do conservatives deny the reality that Trump will be impeached and removed from office when Democrats win in November?

According to a new poll, 49 percent of Americans want Trump impeached:

The way politicians usually work is to cave in to public demand and embrace what is popular in order to keep getting voted. Many republicans in congress and especially in the Senate are moderate and would gladly remove Trump if it means saving their own political careers.

So, why do republicans deny this? Trump is going to be impeached and removed from office. That is what democrats are promising. They have the support.

Pence said that to scare conservatives into voting for Republicans. Independent analysts say that even wit h Democrats taking the highest number of possible seats, they won't have the votes to impeach- which takes more than 51% of the vote. So they would have to have Republicans joining with them. Unless Republicans see that Trump is hurting their own election chances more than helping, they are not going to vote for impeachment. Trump is doing many of the things they want done- cutting taxes on the rich, removing environmental restrictions on business, etc. No one cares what the public thinks.
