Washington (CNN) – The push in Washington over reducing the federal deficit and producing a balanced budget shouldn't be at the expense of vulnerable Americans, President Barack Obama said in an interview on Tuesday.

His comments came the same day Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican chairman of the House Budget Committee, unveiled a plan that aims to balance the budget in 10 years.

Obama said his own plan, which the White House said should be out the week of April 8, would not include that objective.

"My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance," Obama told ABC News. "My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue. If we control spending and we have a smart entitlement package, then potentially what you have is balance – but it is not balance on the backs of the poor, the elderly, students who need student loans, families that have disabled kids. That is not the right way to balance our budget."

Come what may, the Presdient seeem to say: We are not sacrificing the American way of life on behalf of the corporate rich!

Are you with him?

I agree with him on this. Too bad there are so many republicans who want to see the most vulnerable suffer, starve, and go without medical care. Heartless freaks!

I'm with the president on getting health care for everyone. It's a noble goal. Now, how does he intend to do it? The financing part of the Affordable Health Care Act is disastrously wrong, and every time the Congressional Budget Office reviews it, we seem to lose another billion dollars without getting any more in return, and I'm talking about more health care benefits. It reminds me of buying "a pig in a poke"--you've got something there, but what is it? Right now, my premiums have gone up, but my coverage has gone down. No, I don't make over $45 k a year, so this (tax, premium) pick one, has cost me, and inflation has also put me into a higher tax bracket, but my buying power is shrinking. All of that ties into the president's rhetoric, but not well, when you start analyzing costs and results. He's a fine speaker, but listen to what he's saying, then ask "How?"

Its huge-unfold prepare for democrats to apply the style of component to attack a republican president. And incredibly some libs I talked to declare that Bush the two enable 9-11 take place or became into by some means a factor of the attack. I seen Bush's reaction to 9-11 to be the impressive one. i'm beneficial that if Gore were there he could have believed that it became into component of the "massive good wing conspiracy".

Your interpretation of his comments is hilarious.

How do you expect him to maintain the American way of life while he bankrupts the country with entitlement spending.

Further, why s he now, going on fives years suddenly interested in fixing the budget? He had two years with control of congress and failed to pass a budget

"My goal is how do we grow the economy",,,,,,WTF????

That's not a goal, that's a fu**ing question.

So basically he is saying, we haven't figured out how to grow the economy or get people back to work, so we're just going to keep throwing money at the wall and hope it sticks. Ya, great f'ing plan.

You are confused. Real Americans DO NOT TAKE!!! They give! You are thinking about Mexicans coming to America to get free services among the throngs of Obama voters.
