Obviously they'r as wrong as that as they were on cigs causing cancer and fought relentlessly for a hands-off approach to Big Tobacco and are doing the same thing now w/ Big Pharma, Big Energy, Big Banks, AgriBiz, etc etc.

Them being the puppets of big biz means they'l get plenty of money to continue their relentless obstructionism of anything that would protect the planet and Its inhabitants.

PS: Global Warming is now known as Climate Disruption. GW was a euphemism.

while science isn't always right... I wouldn't want to bet against it... and that seems to be what cons love to do anymore...

EDIT: lol at uncle pennybags... yay, the breadbasket in America would just move to Canada and we would have to pay them to get food! GREAT!

but seriously... it would be almost impossible to predict the outcomes of such warming and how beneficial or non-beneficial it would be to humans... too many variables to even have a realistic conversation about it... that's why no one has one...

Just for fun, let's say that man made global warming is real. How does taxing anyone fix the problem?

According to "Inconvenience Truth" the world only had until 2008 to stop global warming. Now it is TOO LATE.

90% of humanity will die HORRIBLE deaths from floods, hurricanes, droughts, blizzards, tsunamis and earthquakes.

Only the Lear jet people like Michael Moore and Al Gore will survive the coming climate APOCALYPSE in their underground mansions.

if man ceased all forms of modern living today it would have little effect on any damage already done or expected to happen, it's a nice pipe dream though

What cracks me up is how obviously political denier's positions on this are. All this crap about warming is missing the point. The practical, policy-related outcome is: we need to reduce fossil fuel use. I don't care if the reason is warning, or economic necessity, or national security... we need to do it and Republicans supposedly agree.... until Obama wants to.

George W. Bush lamented that "America is addicted to oil" and that it was a massive economic and national security risk. Now Obama is in the white house, and suddenly green technology is some massive money making conspiracy (oddly being run by 'communists').

Disagreeing with Cap and Trade or other policy ideas is fine. Whining and moaning about warming is silly. To make matters worse the debate isn't even clear. Some say it isn't happening at all, others say it is but not because of human activity.

Dissent is fine, even encouraged. Its the stupidity that bothers me.

They are wrong about anthropogenic global warming.

The rate of global warming is slow, 0.03 C per year, and so can be explained away by those who need to disbelieve. But most rational people will come to see the truth of it in coming years.

Make up your minds...I thought it was "climate change" now because data has since come out showing that we are on a cooling trend.

Global Warming is real.

Man made global warming is false.

Take a science class or two.

OK.

Let's say we're wrong, and the world gets warmer.

Are you anxious to return to the days of the Little Ice Age? Our warming trend started when we exited that period around 1850.

In the past, when there were warmer periods, history shows us that man kind thrives during warmer temps. Crops are easier to grow. Don't forget, cold kills more people every year than heat does.

Yes, there will be losers. But there will also be winners. Places where crops can't grow now will be able to grow them.

How I would love to see an honest discussion about the realistic effects if the world warms. So far, all you Democrats paint is doom and gloom. What would the real effects be?

*Republicans* were wrong on Iraq? Let's see...

"One way or another, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to

develop WMD and the missiles to deliver them."

-- BILL CLINTON FEB 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is

clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed my Iraq's WMD

program."

-- BILL CLINTON FEB 17, 1998

"Let's imagine the future. What if [Saddam] fails to comply [with U.N.

sanctions], and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route

which gives him yet more opportunities to develop this program of

weapons of mass destruction and continue to press for the release of

the sanctions and continue to ignore the solemn commitments that he

made? He will conclude that the international community has lost its

will. He will then conclude that he can go right on and do more to

rebuild an arsenal of devastating destruction."

"And some day, some way, I guarantee you, he'll use the arsenal."

President Clinton's Feb. 17, 1998 speech on Iraq

"He will use those WMD again, as he has ten times since 1993."

-- SANDY BERGER (Clinton Nat Sec Adv) FEB 18, 1998.

"Iraq is a long way from (here), but what happens there matters a great

deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use

nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our Allies is the

greatest security we face."

-- MADELINE ALBRIGHT (Clinton Secretary of State) FEB 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the

U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if

appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond

effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of

mass destruction programs."

Letter to President Clinton, signed by:

-- Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998

"I think there is a disconnect between the depth of the threat that

Saddam Hussein presents to the world and what we are at the moment

talking about doing. ... (T)hen we have to be prepared to go the full

distance, which is to do everything possible to disrupt his regime and

to encourage the forces of democracy."

ABC'S COKIE ROBERTS: "And does that mean ground troops in Iraq?"

KERRY: "I am personally prepared, if that's what it meant."

-- Sen. John Kerry (D, MA) to ABC's "This Week," 2/22/98)

"Saddam has been engaged in the development of WMD technology which is

a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the

weapons inspection process."

-- Rep. NANCY PELOSI (D, CA) DEC 16, 1998

"Hussein has... chosen to spend his money on building WMD and palaces

for his cronies."

-- MADELINE ALBRIGHT (Clinton Secretary of State) NOV 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons

programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear

programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status......

LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH SIGNED BY
