Question:
If Rasmussen is not biased towards the right, why are they polling on a non-existent issue created by repubs?

Rasmussen reports recently found (not suprisingly) that the vast majority of Americans want to keep the Dollar as America's currency. What IS suprising is that this is not an issue that's being discussed in the political world, except by people far-right congressman Buchmann and Glenn Beck. They are responding to discussions about a new world reserve currency that would take the place of the dollar (the de-facto current world reserve currency), with objections to replacing the dollar as the currency used in the united states. Nobody has proposed replacing the US dollar as the currency of the United States, and it's not even within the power of congress to do so.

The more this non-existent issue is discussed and talked about, the more the public is confused about what the real facts are. Perhaps this is by accident, but it is none the less deceptive.

Rasmussen is slanted to the right without question. The evidence is there for everyone to see - if they want to see. It's the one poll that conservatives use in their questions/answers and there's a reason for that. I am not saying this doesn't occur in reverse, it does. Daily Kos tends to be left leaning in the same way that Rasmussen is right leaning. The results from both have a great deal to do with the way those polling questions are worded. And as you said, the questions that are asked in the first place. When a question is pointedly asked about something - usually a fantasy - that conservatives claim the liberals are either doing or support, it's not hard to see which way the lean goes.

As you said, the currency issue isn't even a real issue. Those discussing this are fringers and don't really represent anyone in the mainstream. I don't know one Democrat who has ever even mentioned such a thing as global currency - and I'm involved in politics not just here, but in my neck of woods in "real" life.

Tim G. answering a question about it in the affirmative didn't make it a mainstream issue either. No one keeps bringing this up but conservatives desperate to make some vague point that doesn't really exist about liberals.

Funny. It seems that Tim G. told China he was open to the idea right after Michelle Bachman questioned him in Congress where he said..."No...". She asked him to tell him where in the constitution this was allowed, but he didn't understand her and came back with a rather junior high school-ish response..the cruxt of it was "Well, I can ....cuz I am the Treasury Secretary!" Whether it's in the constitution is no longer valid as Obama and company are weaving their way around every obstacle they can find. There is a reason Obama dabbled in constitutional law. That's right..DABBLED. How many cases did he present? Only ONE we know of. Law professsor? No. Senior Lecturer on Leave. SO.....what were you saying again? Something about because you don't see any discussion of it, it isn't real.

It was discussed in a full page in the Liberal Boston Globe today. I see it discussed on MSNBC constantly and Glenn Beck is a Libertarian. You seem misinformed.
