Did it bother you that Bush was re-elected with 51% of the popular vote?

"George W. Bush emerged from the election with fifty-one percent of the popular vote -- the first outright majority for any presidential candidate since his father in 1988, and the first president since Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936 to be re-elected while gaining seats in both the House and the Senate."

NOTE: Carter lost his re-election bid and Clinton never got 50% of the vote.

No quite the opposite, I find it comforting and a source of great pride that most Americans rejected Hanoi John Kerry's attempts to gain the Presidency

A factor of that fifty one%, which includes me, found out that Pres Bush replaced into greater proper than Sen Kerry. In all honesty, he has made some considerable errors, yet I nonetheless say Sen Kerry could have been a terrible mistake. If the Dems had the commonsense to appoint Sen Lieberman, then i might have voted for a Dem. easily, for somewhat some us, the vote replaced into against Sen Kerry, no longer for Pres Bush.

The only aspect that bothered me is that it indicates that at least 51% of the population still falls for empty rhetoric and downright BS.

Only in America can a Vietnam verteran be painted as a traitor while someone who spent the war missing dental appointments be branded a true patriot.

Upshot is the country got the President it deserved.

Nope, didn't bother me. It wouldn't bother me if Kerry had won the same way (logistically.) Rationally though I'd not be sleeping so calmly at night with Bush at the helm.

Voter fraud... There's a concept.

Gather up your bingo and poker chips all you elderly people... We're going for a ride!

First stop is to vote for the man we support "John Kerry" then we'll take you to the casino and pay for you to stay over night at a local hotel.

How many social security numbers of dead people turned up on the polls voting for Kerry? All of them.

What bothers me is that he didn't win the election by more then 51%. Sometime I can't believe what some people say about him.

To quot a famous person:

"The sooner he and his supporters are placed in jail, the sooner the healing and problem solving can begin."

Gimmy a Break!!!

Sometimes I wish that Bush would pull out of Iraq just to show all these people what would happen if he did. The insurgents and terrorists hate us and consider it an honor to die for the country they would anilate us!!!

Think about it

51% of the people who voted in 2004 were complete idiots. The state of the country now is largely attributable to them for reelecting someone who already hurt our country so much and was obviously going to continue doing the same. Shame on them.

My favorite is to hear people whine about Florida in 2000, and in almost the same breath talk about how they could have won in '04 with a few more votes in Ohio. What hypocrites!

So you think 51% is a mandate or something? Are you also aware that Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000? What percent of the popular vote did Gore beat Bush by since we are talking popular vote?

Bush 50,460,110 Gore 51,003,926

47.87% 48.38% so about 1% of the popular vote

It was a slick job with the electoral vote that got Bush "elected" in 2000.

That didn't bother me at all. What bothered me was that there were blatant errors in the voting system that were never even adressed. What bothered me is that despite that 51% victory, Bush acts like he doesn't need the support of any of the rest of the nation. What bothers me is that 51% seems like a massive majority to him.

No because Kerry was a tool. Luckily for Bush, this is his last term. The political beating he would take if he had the opportunity to run again would be epic, almost biblical.

I'm looking forward to the figurative pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth you'll receive from the spin meisters on the left. It should be most entertaining.

Two words: VOTER FRAUD!

Do your research. Bush was never elected by a majority, and this so-called '51%' vote is so beyond a mandate that I have to wonder why people have let this crime go so long.

It bothers me far more that his lack of thought has landed our great nation in the worst moral and spiritual morass in the history of the United States.

The sooner he and his supporters are placed in jail, the sooner the healing and problem solving can begin.

Apparently getting a large amount of the vote is no indication that you will be a quality president.
2007-09-20 14:27:51 UTC
NOT REALLY. IT JUST SHOWED ME THAT 51% OF AMERICA HAS BELOW AVERAGE INTELLIGENCE AND DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST 4 YEARS.

It might if it were true. I notice the article didn't mention the "voting irregularities" or Diebold machines.

he should have had more but the Dem's did steal some of the votes.

I still have my Bush 2004 Bumper Sticker on my Ford Excursion. Kerry went down in flames!

The conspiracy theories are hilarious! Evertime the democrats lose they bleat 'VOTER FRAUD'!

What bothers me is that he is president.
2007-09-20 14:03:57 UTC
Why would that bother me?

What bothers me is how we continue to hear liberals whine about how he stole the election.
2007-09-20 14:07:31 UTC
I voted "Against" him.. so, what do you think ??
