The guy uncovered the most dirty and thorough infringement of privacy rights and national sovereignity ever, risking his life and likely permanently keeping him from contacting his family and other beloved ones. Turning him into a refugee for the rest of his life.

The stream of information how the American government disregards and disrespects privacy not only of their own citizens, but those worldwide, seems never ending. Besides installing spyware in the offices of and tracking activity of other national leaders, also tapping hundreds of millions phonenumbers. Every single call they make or receive. All over the world. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
One person standing up for the right of privacy and the dangers of mass spying internationally. Keeping your business secrets safe and avoiding you from accidentally being labelled as potentionally dangerous because you said some keywords over the years the NSA's computer system doesn't think right.

Isn't this worth a big applaus from everyone?

You don't think others want to and do Spy on us? it is a 2 way street. So tired of the media making the USA out to be evil all the time. You can't fight bombs with candy and smiles- grow up!

He is a child who thought he knew what was right for the world but instead has created chaos and made international relations much harder. He exposed the US spying on other countries as if no other country was spying on us. Now, they are all high and mighty about how awful we are, but he didn't expose their spying so we can't fight it.

He accomplished nothing helpful.

If you think the NSA knows more about you than the private corporations do, you aren't paying attention. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2003/11/prweb90290.htm He didn't expose THAT, did he?!

If Snowden hadn't gone to Russia with this information, I might agree with you. But also there seems to be no consideration for the repercussions of his actions... no self-restraint... just toss it all out there and to hell with the consequences.

So while his intentions might be admirable, the way he went about it was not.

He is a marked man, who will always live in the fear of a long prison sentence if he gets arrested.

Obama should disavow the existence of the NSA

Hero. The real issue is the President trying to sell us on the belief that he knew nothing about it.

NO...He's a coward because he RAN...if he had stuck around and took the fire he'd be a hero.

All he did was confirm what any sane person already suspected .

Just a common criminal.
