Anyone else feel like Obama is selfish and arrogant?

I mean, the polls are clear that the majority of America does NOT want socialized healthcare. Yet, he is STILL going to have another go at it, and try to push it through again.
Why doesnt he listen to the people? I thought WE ran this country.
Is this an example of the government getting too big to for us?

Also, everytime I hear him speak, he just shows NO humblness or sincerity. It just seem to be all about him. He says "I want" alot. And he always weasles around the important issues.
I dont feel safe with him as our leader. I dont feel that our economy and our national checkbook are being taken care of. Nor do I think we are benefitted by seeming so idle and weak about terrorism.
And what the heck is the deal with giving terrorist master minds a civil court??!!!
Why try a terrorist as a civilian?!! they are the enemy, and they should not recieve our rights!

Am I alone in this?
Or is our country really this divided?

What do you expect from a guy with NO military experience, NO foreign policy experience, NO economic experience, NO business experience, and only 143 days of federal government experience before changing his mind and deciding to run for president....

He's dangerous all right.

But not nearly as dangerous as some of these answers. To the Kaiser Poll guy. I'm a Kaiser member, have never seen such a poll and your link sends me into La La Land. Nice try but some actually check sources and note when frauds are in the vicinity.

And there is the one with CEO compensation problems. The social programs are so brilliantly run that over half of the monies committed to them go out in fraud. And if you don't have supplemental insurance for Medicare you don't have SHlT aside from a bill.

It also seems funny to me that as long as some Democrat is doing it, it's just fine. "Bush lied, men died". But he didn't lie to a Federal Grand Jury, I guess that to is OK if a Democrat does it. How about Obama's 57 state remark, there are 57 Islamic states but again no problem. My God, Dan Quayle, used an archaic spelling of potato and you haven't heard from him since.

It is things like the above that make me sorry I spent 22 years in uniform protecting the rights of people who run from any responsibility. I know one right is the right to be stupid. I just wish a few less people would exercise it so often.

No. You are mistaken about what the public wants regarding health care:

July 2009 Kaiser Health Tracking Poll

Do you favor or oppose, "Having a national health plan in which all Americans would get their insurance through an expanded, universal form of Medicare-for all?"

Favor 58%, Oppose 38%, NA/DK 3%

July

2009 Time Magazine Would you favor or oppose a program that creates a national single-payer plan similar to Medicare for all, in which the government would provide healthcare insurance to all Americans?

Favor 49%, Oppose 46%, NA/DK 5%

Feb.

2009

Grove Insight Opinion Research "When given a choice of the current system or one "like Medicare that is run by the government and financed by taxpayers," voters overwhelmingly chose the latter. A solid majority (59%) say they would prefer a national health insurance program that covers everyone, over the current system of private insurance offered to most through their emloyer."

You are also mistaken about who runs the country. The people elect the President and Congress to do that. The people elected Obama.

*sigh.

Have you really ignored the social cry for health care reform????

Are you that unaware of the medical inflation which has spiraled so far beyond the rest of the economy?

Get a grip my man.

The Republican administration held 190 civilian trials for alleged terrorists. Did you know that?

Finally your opinion of Obama is byist and these ideas being presented destroys your credibility.

Have a nice day!

Medicare IS socialized healthcare genius!

Why should health insurance giant CEOs take in $700 million while denying coverage to people??

I disagree with all 12 points in your rant.

Harry S. Truman said democrats were bosses and republicans were leaders, very true statement. This is what your seeing in Obama, instead of leading America he bosses it.

Obama has his own health care plan to discuss with the Republicans and that is: Ignore the voices of the American people. We know better and we're going to jam this down their throats no matter what. Him, Pelosi and the Libs. say they're going to give it to the American people ANYWAY.

So ya, I'd say he's selfish and arrogant. Guess we'll have to tell them we're serious on election day.

On the contrary, America already supports socialized heatlhcare in medicare and medicaid.

You act like this Barack Obama fellow is a unique phenomenon.

Well, there's a simple test to determine if you are a political hack:

Did you mention it as if it were a continuance of Bush's policies, or did you mention it as if this is new?

Well, let's see.

You care about the debt, yet you don't mention what turned the surplus into a large debt (Tax cuts, wars, and a recession that occured under Bush's watch)

Considering the majority of the deficit FY 2009 was due to Bush or continuance of Bush era policies, so far it seems you are a political hack.

I'll continue. "Why try a terrorist as a civilian?" Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't the would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid also get mirandized right after getting off the plane? Wasn't Bush II president?

So it appears you are a political hack. Thank you for playing.

No one who has any BRAIN and grasp of REALITY thinks so. Only the brainless wing-nuts, who reject Reality-Based thinking believe such idiotic lies.

It's been clear for DECADES, that the majority of AMericans have been BEGGING for health care reform. (Obama has NOT proposed socialized health care, btw -- not once; but then wing-nuts never met a lie they didn't LOVE).

The US, as we who have brains realize, cannot afford to continue to allow health care costs to double every few years; and it's wrong to allow tens of thousands to die every year because they can't get treatment.

Health care reform is one of the things the majority of voters HIRED Obama to do. That some have gotten cold feet because they've been conned by wing-nuts notwithstanding, most Americans do support the various features of reform Obama has been touting all along.

He's HAS been listening to the people; that's why he keeps fighting for all the things we elected him to accomplish.

Uh, no, the people do not directly vote on national legistlation or make executive policies. You obviously have no grasp at all of American democracy. We HIRE folks to do the grunt-work of running government.

??????? You obviously don't actually listen to him, or pay any attention to what he says or how he says it. Those of us who are decent judges of character percieve his sincerity. Those who find Beck, Bush, Palin, and the other liars sincere are just clueless.

?????? It's not about HIM -- he HAS health care, and a job. He thinks ALL Americans should have a shot at having decent lives -- something all wing-nuts vehemently oppose for some strange reason.

He doesn't weasle. Brainless people can't distinguish weasling from someone with enough brain to grasp COMPLEXITY.

How someone with no brain and no grasp of reality, with no human values, feels is irrelevant to thinking, feeling peoeple who love their country.

The economy has been improving, though slowly, since the wing-nuts really tanked it bad, and are currently fighting tooth-and-nail to PREVENT its recovery.

Idle and weak? Uh, so you thought Bush allowing Taliban and Al Qaeda to regroup and retake Afghanistan was STRONG on terrorism, and Obama's commitment to defeat them weak? WHEW! I knew you hated reality-based thinking, but it never ceases to amaze how completely you reject it.

Uh, trying people for crimes they've been accused of is called "rule of law" -- I know wing-nuts HATE anyone who abides by law, but HUMANS disagree.

No one has proposed accused terrorists of recieving OUR rights -- they are incarcerated; they will never be citizens or vote. However, rule of law requires TRIALS for the accused.

Unfortunately, you aren't alone in your inhumanity, hatred of rule of law, hatred of American principles, love of lies, love of suffering and death, and desire for every family, business, and level of government to be bankrupted in the near future. There's about 14% of your fellow wing-nuts with you.

Not one HUMAN agrees with the wing-nuts, fortunately.

A tally of all of his speeches shows that Obama talks about himself almost 40% of the time and slips into the first person 15% of the time . So yes i will have to agree with you there.
2010-02-21 16:06:48 UTC
He doesn't care what the American people want this is about government control.
2010-02-21 16:07:14 UTC
Nope.

What does he have to humble himself for?

He is tenacious. He is driven.

Why should he apologize?

...humble himself??

I love confidence.

No. He is listening to the people who voted for him. He said in his campaign that he was trying to reform health care and got voted in. It has nothing to do with socialized medicine, BTW.
