What is the reason only America is allowed to have nuclear bombs?

We're not. Thus far, nine other nations have publicly confirmed that they possess nukes. At least that many more are known to have weapons-grade nuclear material, though they publicly deny it.

we're not the only ones. W e are the only ones to have used them if thats what you mean.There are several recognized nuclear powers in this world The US, Russia, UK, Pakistan, India, France, China, and North Korea. Israel is undeclared but is widely known to posses them. What people dont know is there are even some countries considered de facto nuclear states because producing Nukes wouldnt take much time at all.



Japan, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Turkey could all produce nukes within a years time and in Japans case within 6 months. They have the materials or know how to be the 3rd largest nuclear power if they wanted to be.



Even further, and i can guarantee nobody else here knows this, there are countries in this world that have whats called nuclear sharing. Belgium, The Netherlands, and a few other NATO countries have US built pre positioned tactical nuclear weapons on their soil and could be used by the host country. They remain under US control in peacetime but are released to said host countries in a crisis.

And no, Iran shouldn't be prevented from having nuclear weapons. It's meddling on our part and I find it interesting the same people who don't believe we should intervene in Syria think we should intervene in a far more powerful country like Iran to stop them from having nuclear weapons.



The sad fact is, if their government, people and scientific institutions are set on getting the bomb, there is very little that can be done to stop them short of military force. If a country like North Korea was allowed by the world to get the bomb, I don't see what the problem is with Iran having it.

We keep nuclear weapons because other countries have their own too. If one country drops a nuke on us, we will fire back. It's called MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). Also, the UN is created to restore peace as possible and North Korea violates international law by testing their own nuclear weapons systemically which is already banned by international conventions and treaties.
