Can College Professors teach their liberal idealogy in their classes ?

My sister has a political science class in a state funded university (don't want to say which).
Her professor is so liberal, that he very often bash Fox News and Republic Party in Class.
Does this professor have a right to do that ?

State universities are notoriously liberal. Whether or not they have a right to do that, does not seem to matter. Liberal profs will spout their crap and Conservative profs will eventually be forced out of the university. I know of a couple of Conservative profs to whom that has happened, already. That was also the case many years ago when I was in undergrad school (early 80's). The way I battled it? Every paper I wrote was from my viewpoint, regardless of the opinions being forced on me by the professors. I cited their opinions and knocked 'em down. Tell your sister to stand up to them... either in person or in writing.

I have a degree in economics and I had some really liberal professors. Many were very open about pushing their agenda. In some cases, I was marked down on papers if I expressed a differing view. I became very good at telling them what they wanted to hear just to get an A. I also live in a college town and have a friend who is a Poli Sci professor. We once went to a party at her house and were the only "non faculty". It was like an echo chamber they all have the same (very liberal) beliefs and LOL, they honestly think they are moderate.

Well, he's absolutely right in bashing FOX news, but should throw MSNBC as well. Those types of far-left and far-right media are bad for the political discussion.
Also, the reps have a long history of contradictory policies (abortion, birth control, sex education) and just plain being wrong (training Al Qaida, selling Saddam weapons, invading Iraq, "trickle down economics", etc.)
But, then you should find where the libs are wrong on some issue, make sure you actually understand the issue, and bring it up in class.
Part of going to college is being confronted with ideas you don't agree with. This is a huge part of education. You might try considering that perhaps you are wrong about something.

I don't know, but it is unprofessional.
On the other hand republicans sometimes believe a professor is being biased when they are simply presenting the facts. (ie evolution in biology class)
However, I think it is unprofessional to bring up politics in a class that does not pertain to politics.
I have had this experience a few times with professors on both sides.
In this case it is political science, so it's hard to say.

In my state funded university, my political science teacher openly bashes Obama. I disagree with teaching any bias. Only the course material should be taught and then the students can form their OWN opinions.

well it is their class, but at the same time, what was the context of the discussion? if someone wanted to use this as a source, the professor would need to explain why a news station is not a valid source in academics.

Yes. It's called free speech. Just like you have the right to whine and lie on YA about it.
p.s.: Reality has a very liberal bias.

It wouldn't matter if he had the right or not....he can't help himself.
All he is, is educated.
If he were actually an intellectually disciplined human being, he would have a real job.

My student fees fund religious student groups. Does the college have a right to do that? I asked and was told to suck it the **** up.

You'd learn in college that an example of one does a norm make.
And yes they do have the right to do it.
